About the role

Our Financial Regulation and Capital Markets team is looking for a new member with experience in the relevant areas of law and comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory environment in the provision of banking and investment services in Greece, the licensing and distribution of investment funds in Greece and securities laws.

As a member of our Financial Regulation and Capital Markets law team you will:

• work within an international environment of excellence;
• obtain experience in a wide spectrum of regulatory and legal matters regarding the provision of traditional and new technology banking and other financial services in Greece as well as securities offerings in Greece and abroad;
• become a member of global wide workstreams and work in groups with international legal teams that further enhance legal knowledge on related matters and provide valuable international market input; 
• participate in M&A transactions where the target is a company providing regulated services;
• participate in securities offering transactions in Greece and abroad;
• closely cooperate with legal and business teams of big listed companies on Greek capital markets, market information dissemination and corporate governance issues;
• combine relevant regulatory knowledge with legal solutions that refer to every-day banking and other financial services;
• have direct contact and interaction with regulatory authorities.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

• qualification to act as a Greek lawyer through a Greek law degree and bar admission;

• minimum 3 years of working experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel, including in the relevant areas of law. International experience or exposure to international projects and clients is an asset;
• an LLM, ideally in commercial, financial, banking and/or EU law;
• vision to establish profile and relationships with partners and clients, and become a recognized practitioner in Financial Regulation and Capital Markets law;
• ability to take on a high degree of responsibility and manage a challenging workload;
• continuous learning and development mindset;
• positive attitude and team-work spirit;
• excellent command of English;
• knowledge of the Greek regulatory environment regarding the provision of banking, payment and investment services in Greece and the licensing and distribution of investment funds in Greece, as well as Greek securities laws.
