About the role

As an Enrolled Endorsed Nurse, you'll be at the heart of this life-changing work, providing compassionate clinical care and helping people take their first steps towards a healthier future. Join our dedicated nursing team at the Geelong Withdrawal Unit and use your clinical expertise in a rewarding environment where no two days are the same. Working alongside Registered Nurses, GPs, AOD professionals, and support staff, you'll provide high-quality withdrawal management care while supporting clients through one of the most important stages of their recovery journey.

From conducting assessments and monitoring withdrawal symptoms to administering medications and providing compassionate support, you'll have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in AOD nursing within a collaborative and purpose-driven team.

Reporting to the Nurse Team Leader, this is a casual opportunity based on-site at our Geelong Withdrawal Unit in Corio, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with the Nurses Award 2010.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care including admissions, discharges, clinical observations, withdrawal assessments and medication administration
• Support clients throughout the detoxification process with empathy, professionalism and dignity
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, GPs, AOD practitioners and support staff
• Identify and manage risks while promoting a safe environment for clients, colleagues and visitors
• Contribute to smooth day-to-day unit operations through handovers, team meetings and unit support activities

What you'll bring

We're looking for a compassionate and adaptable nurse who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about improving health outcomes for vulnerable people.

• Enrolled Nurse qualification with Medication Endorsement and current AHPRA registration
• A genuine interest in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) nursing, withdrawal management and recovery-focused care
• Completed Cert IV AOD competencies or a willingness to obtain these within 12 months
• Experience in AOD, mental health, community health or a related clinical setting (highly regarded but not essential)
• Strong clinical assessment, medication management and problem-solving skills
• The ability to remain calm and confident in a dynamic healthcare environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and SharePoint
• A Current Employee Working with Children Check
• A Current Victorian Driver's Licence
