What we offer
We are looking for a hardworking Life Safety Systems Sales Executive, Electronic to join our team. This position is responsible for growing sales, developing new business, and maintaining existing customer relationships in a territory-based sales environment. You will work closely with customers, prospects, and internal teams to identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and close business that supports both customer needs and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell Fire Safety Systems to customers and end users within an assigned territory and accounts.
- Establish contact with prospects, qualify potential buyers, schedule sales calls, follow up on leads, and use Johnson Controls marketing strategies.
- Develop a sales strategy to understand product offerings, qualify and prioritize opportunities, and maintain accurate territory records.
- Conduct seminars, demonstrations, and other customer-facing activities to generate and qualify leads.
- Prepare financial justifications, proposals, presentations, and follow-up activities to support successful closing of sales.
- Work with district operations to improve service delivery and support a strong customer experience.
- Deliver sales against an assigned quota and maintain established accounts through regular customer contact to drive follow-on sales.
- Report progress and supply metrics to operations and corporate teams on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Participate in trade shows, special product demonstrations, and other events to grow sales and strengthen the company’s image.
How You Will Do It
- Own your territory with accountability, integrity, and a strong focus on safety while following through on commitments to customers and internal partners.
- Stay close to the work by listening carefully to customer needs, qualifying opportunities quickly, and removing obstacles that could slow the sale or service experience.
- Use candor and continuous improvement to review pipeline activity, conversion rates, and follow-up discipline, then adjust your approach based on what you learn.
- Win as one team by collaborating with district operations, marketing, and corporate partners, bringing together diverse perspectives to solve problems and improve outcomes.
- Use clear communication and consistent follow-up to build trust with customers, strengthen relationships, and support long-term account growth.
What we look for
- Minimum of five years of successful sales experience in the electronic or a similar industry.
- Highly motivated and success driven, with a strong desire to exceed goals.
- Ability to quickly identify and qualify opportunities.
- Ability to persuade and close sales.
- High degree of self-discipline and self-motivation.
- Good oral and written communication skills, along with strong sales techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to acquire the appropriate licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working with electrical contractors.
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Computer experience, with Microsoft and Oracle programs preferred.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $62,000 - $96,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
