Intercompany Specialist

Job Purpose

The Intercompany Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end intercompany accounting activities, ensuring timely reconciliation, accurate financial reporting, effective dispute resolution, and governance of intercompany transactions across global legal entities. The role partners with Finance Controllers, Operations Teams, and Global Process Owners while leveraging digital tools, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to enhance process efficiency, transparency, and control.

Key Responsibilities

Intercompany Accounting & Reconciliations

• Perform intercompany GL reconciliations for all legal entities across SAP and Non-SAP systems.
• Prepare and validate intercompany accrual calculations during month-end and year-end close.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation mismatches, accounting discrepancies, and open items.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Balance Monitoring & Resolution

• Monitor ageing intercompany balances and identify overdue or unresolved transactions.
• Drive timely follow-up and resolution of disputes, mismatches, and outstanding balances.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring reconciling items and implement preventive actions.
• Maintain complete visibility of intercompany balances and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.

Invoicing & Transaction Management

• Coordinate non-trade intercompany invoicing activities across legal entities.
• Ensure timely processing, validation, settlement, and reconciliation of intercompany invoices.
• Support business stakeholders in resolving transaction-related queries and accounting issues.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Facilitate periodic review meetings with Unit Finance Controllers, Operations Teams, and Global Process Owners.
• Discuss intercompany balances, accruals, disputes, open items, ageing, and reconciliation status.
• Track action items and ensure accountability for timely resolution.
• Prepare governance reports, dashboards, and management updates.

Digitalization, Analytics & AI

• Leverage AI tools and automation technologies to improve reconciliation efficiency, exception management, and reporting accuracy.
• Utilize data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, ageing risks, and process improvement opportunities.
• Support implementation and adoption of AI-powered solutions for financial analysis, dispute management, and balance monitoring.
• Drive continuous learning and adoption of emerging AI technologies within Finance operations.
• Collaborate with Digital, Finance Transformation, and Process Excellence teams to automate manual activities and enhance controls.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process standardization, optimization, and automation.
• Support transformation initiatives focused on intercompany process excellence.
• Contribute to improvements in KPIs, SLA performance, and financial control effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in Intercompany Accounting, General Ledger, R2R, or Shared Services Finance operations.
• Experience with SAP ERP and financial reconciliation tools preferred.
• Exposure to digital finance transformation and automation initiatives is an advantage.
