What Operations and Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations/Inventory is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Job Summary

The Supervisor of Operations/Inventory Management is responsible for directly supervising staff that are performing required tasks for the business. Oversees the daily activities of the staff, supporting their growth and development within the company, assisting with the management, and collaborating with the other departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Operations and Inventory tasks within the facility
• Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Hold employees accountable, sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors
• Handle any escalations and apply expertise to solve standard and non-standard problems within own area
• Makes decisions, often difficult and/or unpopular, by carefully weighing pros and cons and acting for the benefit of the work team; coaches/supports subordinates in their decision-making efforts
• Assists work team in the achievement of goals/ commitments; achieves own goals/commitments regardless of obstacles
• Builds customer relationships, interprets customer needs and assesses their business requirements
• Resolves day-to-day or routine problems using defined processes
• Works/brainstorms with work team and provides suggestions for solutions that contain the appropriate level of risk; ensures work team understands and supports the focus
• Actively builds relationships across the business that bring value to the company, encouraging the participation and perspectives of all team members; mentors and empowers others to achieve success
• Salesforce Case Management 
• Optimize efficiency in warehouse with consistent Profiling process 
• Release of all cycle count plans 
• Supports Outbound & Inbound Reconcilers (Day & Nights) 
• Setting necessary cadence and culture of team huddles  3rd party distributor Inmar and vendor returns support 
• Monitor critical inventory control dashboards 
• Participate in Inventory Control resource management decisions 
• Monthly one on ones with team   

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus
• 2-3 years related experience preferred
• Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience leading a team
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets)
• Experience working within ERP’s (SAP or Manhattan) preferred

• Works/brainstorms with work team and provides suggestions for solutions that contain the appropriate level of risk; ensures work team understands and supports the focus on operational excellence

Anticipated salary range: $68,500- $97,700
