manage and safeguard mission-critical database platforms that power production applications across enterprises and government systems.

This role ensures high availability, performance optimization, and rapid recovery during failures or outages. You will design robust architectures, implement disaster recovery strategies, and collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to maintain reliable and scalable database environments.

Requirements

What you’ll own

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) databases
• High availability and failover management through replication, clustering, and switchover procedures
• Backup integrity, disaster recovery planning, and periodic DR drills to validate readiness
• Performance optimization through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning
• Proactive monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis using Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, or similar tools
• Security hardening, encryption, access control, and compliance with industry standards
• Collaboration with development teams on schema design, query optimization, and release planning
• Automation of DBA tasks and infrastructure provisioning using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
• Documentation of SOPs, runbooks, backup procedures, and recovery playbooks.

• Databases remain stable, secure, and highly available with minimal downtime
• Failover and recovery procedures are tested and executed seamlessly during outages
• Backup and disaster recovery strategies ensure zero or minimal data loss
• Performance bottlenecks are eliminated, enabling scalable workloads and optimized queries
• Monitoring systems proactively detect and resolve incidents within SLA compliance
• Security and compliance standards are consistently met across environments
• Teams collaborate effectively with strong DBA leadership and automation-driven efficiency.

You may be a strong fit if you

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Bring 2–4 years of hands-on experience in database administration with HA/DR setups
• Strong skills in MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, with exposure to NoSQL platforms.
• Proven ability in replication, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery planning with backup tools like pgBackRest or Percona XtraBackup.
• Experience automating DBA tasks using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform, plus monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation discipline, and effective communication skills, with readiness for on‑call rotations.
