Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves leading the design, development, and configuration of custom applications. This role requires taking ownership of the project lifecycle, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that the solutions meet the desired requirements. The position demands proactive communication and collaboration to drive the project forward while managing priorities and addressing challenges that arise during the development process. The engineer acts as the central figure in aligning technical efforts with business goals, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software solutions. Activities include mapping business processes to supporting applications, defining data entities, selecting integration technology components and patterns, and designing the integration architecture.
You will play a vital role in shaping clients' digital transformation journeys, driving successful implementations, enhancing business processes, and delivering value.


Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Solution Architecture & Design:
- Design and govern end-to-end integration architectures across SAP and non-SAP landscapes using BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / iFlows)
- Own creation of the Integration Architecture Strategy for integrating SAP solutions with the rest of the client landscape, keeping in mind risks and options, and develop Integration Architecture Specification deliverables through SAP's 3-tier extensibility model
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of BTP solutions
- Client Engagement & Delivery
- Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, design integrated solutions leveraging various SAP BTP services, and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements
- Lead client workshops, blueprint, design, and build enterprise solutions using different BTP services and applications
- Help clients understand best practices lead, coach, and advise project staff in addition to managing their performance
- Integration Engineering
- Build, structure, and manage large integration flows with clear modularity, reusability, and maintainability for enterprise scale
- Implement message mappings and data transformations for common enterprise formats (JSON, XML, CSV), ensuring semantic correctness and downstream compatibility apply canonical modelling and contract-first practices to reduce brittle point-to-point dependencies
- Design and expose secure APIs through API management capabilities — policies, authentication/authorization, throttling, versioning
- AI-Native Integration Intelligence
- Build integration agents that can generate initial iFlows from system/endpoint selections and naming conventions, then validate them against enterprise standards
- Develop AI-driven anomaly detection and prediction for integration/API behavior (error spikes, latency patterns), with human-in-the-loop controls for remediation actions
- Create AI-native operational experiences such as conversational root-cause analysis, runbook-guided remediation, and impact analysis — bounded by role-based access and approval workflows
- Monitoring, Observability & Governance
- Set up monitoring dashboards and alerts for flows, APIs, and event-driven pipelines establish traceability with correlation IDs and end-to-end tracking
- Apply integration advisory practices to design hybrid integration platforms and define integration best practices across teams use integration assessment approaches to improve integration maturity, standardize patterns, and automate repeatable architectural governance where feasible
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
- Lead the planning and execution of project tasks to ensure timely delivery.
- Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- Must to Have skills: - Strong hands-on expertise with SAP BTP Integration Suite concepts and building blocks — cloud integration/iFlows, transformation patterns, monitoring
- Practical scripting capability (Groovy) for advanced integration flow customization and performance tuning
- Solid API design and management fundamentals — security, throttling, lifecycle/versioning, observability
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA transformations (brownfield, greenfield) involving BTP and a track record of successful project implementations
- Strong capability in solution architecture, technical design workshops, and strategic advisory for clients and stakeholders
- Experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using cloud-based platforms.
- Strong knowledge of application configuration and deployment processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
- Familiarity with API management and data transformation techniques.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
