Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing and developing tailored software solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems. The role requires continuous collaboration with team members to refine and enhance application components, ensuring they meet evolving business requirements. Utilizing agile methodologies, the engineer actively participates in iterative development cycles, focusing on delivering efficient and scalable software that supports organizational goals. The position demands adaptability to changing project needs and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
Required active participation and contribution in team discussions.
Contribute to providing solutions to work-related problems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for custom software development.
Design, develop, and enhance SAP applications using ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
Develop CDS-based data models and OData services to support modern SAP Fiori and business applications.
Build and maintain RAP-based applications, including business objects, behavior definitions, and service exposure.
Optimize application performance through efficient CDS View modeling and HANA-native development techniques.
Assist in maintaining documentation related to software design, development, and testing processes.
Support junior team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on ABAP, CDS, and RAP best practices.

Professional & Technical Skills:

Must Have Skills: SAP ABAP Development for HANA.
Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience with CDS Views and RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
Experience in developing and enhancing custom software components using modern SAP development frameworks.
Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and practices.
Ability to design and optimize CDS Views, data models, and service layers for performance and scalability within SAP HANA environments.
Experience in developing RAP-based transactional and analytical applications.
Familiarity with OData Services, SAP Fiori integration, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
Capability to work with database integration, data modeling concepts, and HANA-optimized development.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA extensibility and modern ABAP development practices.

Additional Information:

The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, including CDS Views and RAP development.
This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
