Sobre este puesto de Corporate Compliance & Legal Operations Specialist en Remote Raven

Remote Raven · Remoto · Philippines

Remote Raven is hiring two Corporate Compliance & Legal Operations Specialists for our client, a US-based roofing and exteriors company that operates across multiple states through a family of regional brands.

This role reports to the Vice President of Compliance & Safety and exists to make that leader's decisions possible. When a demand letter arrives, when a customer dispute escalates past the branch, when a regulator asks a question, when a contract has to move from intake to signature without a gap, you are the person who assembles the facts, organizes the record, holds the deadline, and puts a clean and complete summary in front of the VP so a decision can be made quickly and correctly.

It asks for a different level of trust than most support roles. You will handle confidential matters, investigations, and correspondence with real legal and financial consequence, often before anyone else in the company has seen them. You will also work inside a firm boundary: this is a non-attorney role. You do not give legal advice, you do not interpret the law for the Company, and you contact outside counsel only when the VP authorizes it. The people who do this job well hold that line under pressure and still manage to be genuinely useful to everyone asking them questions.

You will work across Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, Safety, Licensing, and Permitting in a multi-state, multi-brand footprint, which means the records you need are rarely in one place and rarely volunteered. Chasing a file to real completeness, and stating plainly what is still outstanding, is a large part of the work.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Legal Operations Support

  • Support the VP of Compliance & Safety on compliance, legal operations, regulatory, contractual, and risk matters.
  • Prepare information and materials for the VP, and communicate with outside counsel only when authorized to do so.
  • Conduct compliance and regulatory research and prepare written summaries for the VP.
  • Help develop and maintain Company policies, procedures, compliance programs, and internal controls.

Escalated Matters, Disputes & Fact-Finding

  • Assist with escalated customer complaints, disputes, demand letters, attorney correspondence, and matters carrying legal, financial, or regulatory exposure.
  • Conduct fact-finding: gather contracts, communications, photos, recordings, policies, timelines, and related records.
  • Prepare matter summaries and supporting documentation for VP review.
  • Review documents for completeness, consistency, and Company requirements, and escalate issues as needed.

Matter Tracking & Deadlines

  • Maintain tracking systems for legal matters, disputes, claims, regulatory issues, investigations, and deadlines.
  • Support outside-counsel matters by preparing materials, tracking requests and deadlines, and organizing case files (direct counsel contact only when authorized by the VP).

Contract Administration

  • Assist with contract administration: intake, templates, amendments, signature routing, renewals, and records maintenance.
  • Draft routine business correspondence, notices, and responses for review and approval.

Investigations & Regulatory Inquiries

  • Assist with regulatory and governmental inquiries, subpoenas, and investigations by gathering information and preparing responsive materials.
  • Support internal investigations involving compliance concerns, policy violations, or potential misconduct.

Cross-Functional Work & Risk Escalation

  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, Safety, Licensing, Permitting, and other departments.
  • Identify and promptly escalate compliance, contractual, operational, reputational, or legal risks.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding legal matters, investigations, and sensitive Company information.

Requirements

Role Boundaries

This is not an attorney position. The Specialist does not independently provide legal advice, interpret the law on behalf of the Company, or represent the Company as legal counsel. The Specialist may not independently engage outside counsel, request legal opinions, direct counsel, or make decisions reserved for Company leadership or licensed attorneys. Matters requiring legal opinions or representation are coordinated by the Vice President with outside counsel.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in legal operations, compliance, corporate legal support, contracts, regulatory affairs, claims, investigations, or a closely related field.
  • Strong research, analytical, writing, and documentation skills in professional written English.
  • Excellent organization, with the proven ability to carry multiple open matters and competing deadlines without being chased.
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Reliable home office setup, stable high-speed internet, and availability during US Eastern business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Roofing, construction, home improvement, or general contracting experience.
  • Experience with escalated disputes, contracts, investigations, regulatory matters, or litigation support.
  • Direct experience supporting a US-based company or US-based clients.
  • Exposure to multi-state operations, or to a multi-entity or multi-brand corporate structure.
  • Paralegal certificate, compliance certification, or equivalent formal training (helpful, not required).

Tools & Software

  • Matter, claim, or case tracking systems (any platform, or a well-built tracker you maintain yourself)
  • Contract intake, template control, and e-signature routing
  • Microsoft 365 — Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams — and OneDrive
  • Document and records management, including large document, photo, and recording sets
  • Hubstaff for time tracking

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You build a file until it is actually complete, and when it is not, you say exactly what is missing instead of letting the gap pass quietly.
  • You are comfortable telling a manager who wants an answer now, "I cannot give you that read, but here is what I will do and here is what I need from you."
  • You track your own deadlines. Nobody has to remind you that a response is due Friday.
  • You write a summary a busy executive can act on without coming back to you with three questions.
  • You treat confidential information as genuinely confidential, including from colleagues who are simply curious.
  • You raise the fact that is inconvenient for the company just as quickly as the one that helps it.
  • You are steady. Escalated matters arrive already tense, and you do not add to the temperature.
