We are seeking an experienced Computational Biologist or Bioinformatician to lead customer-facing computational biology engagements end-to-end. The role will shape scientific and analytical strategies, translate complex business and scientific needs into executable workstreams, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable bioinformatics solutions.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted scientific advisor to clients, partnering with Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Engineering teams to drive project success and build long-term relationships. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in computational biology and multi-omics, along with strong consulting, communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, scalable Omics solutions (e.g. genomics, transcriptomics, single cell, proteomics).
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Interpret results, generate hypothesis and scientific insights for applications in biomarker identification, indication selection and patient stratification.
- Apply and integrate bioinformatics pipelines, statistical modeling, machine learning/AI methods, and relational data systems to analyze heterogeneous internal and external datasets, enabling hypothesis generation and decision‑making in drug discovery and translational research.
- Research, assess, recommend, and integrate various data types to drive programs decisions.
- Contribute hands‑on to critical scientific initiatives and deliveries, while mentoring junior team members via technical guidance, rigorous scientific review, and workflow standardization.
- Support pre-sales activities including solution development, proposal preparation, capability presentations, and scientific thought leadership.
- Lead multiple bioinformatics and computational biology engagements from project initiation to successful completion.
- Establish project scope, resource plans, milestones, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality scientific analyses, workflows, and reports aligned with customer expectations.
- Track project progress, manage priorities, resolve delivery challenges, and communicate status to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualification & Background
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics or related fields.
- 5-7 years of relevant industry experience and in leading computational biology/bioinformatics projects in CRO, life sciences consulting, or bioinformatics services organizations.
- Understand current and emerging problems, needs, requirements analysis, of the customers.
- Stay current with developments in computational biology, genomics, multi-omics, and AI through scientific literature, conferences, and engagement with the broader scientific community.
- Demonstrated experience leading customer-facing scientific projects and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Having Therapeutic Area exposure in the areas Oncology, Immunology or Neuroscience is a plus.
