Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in paid intern opportunities at our site in Reedsville, PA. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company. Your role:

• Support mechanical design and process improvement work for ultrasound transducer R&D, including tooling, fixtures, prototype builds, test setups, and documentation updates.

• Assist with design-build-test activities by helping create prototypes, execute experiments, collect data, analyze results, and summarize recommendations for engineering teams.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across mechanical, process, manufacturing, quality, materials, acoustic, electrical, and systems engineering to support product development and continuous improvement goals.

• Contribute to process robustness, manufacturability, and quality improvement efforts by supporting root cause analysis, process characterization, work instructions, and verification activities.

• Gain practical experience in medical device engineering, regulated product development, technical documentation, and hands-on problem solving while working with experienced engineering mentors.

You are the right fit if:

• You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related technical field.

• Your skills include strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem solving, data analysis, technical documentation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Experience with computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks or Creo is preferred.

• You have completed relevant coursework, projects, internships, co-ops, research, or lab work involving mechanical design, manufacturing processes, materials, testing, or process improvement.

• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. You are curious, collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced engineering environment.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office-based role requiring in-person presence at least 3 days per week at the Reedsville, PA site.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is Bachelor $26.00 to $29.00, Masters $33-$46, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Reedsville, PA.
