The Director, Service/Product Offer Management is a leadership role, responsible for dealing with a set of products and/or services and may be required to manage product portfolios specific to the business unit/division that falls within their span of control.
This role is responsible for driving the product and/or service plans and roadmaps of an assigned portfolio of products and/or service offerings in the organization by managing the Service Offer Management function and a group of Service Offer Management Managers.
The Director, Service/Product Offer Management oversees the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements in order to define product strategies and identify product opportunities.
- Leads, oversees and agrees the development of the product and/or service strategy and plans.
- Defines market segments and identify white space opportunities for the portfolio of products and/or services.
- Analyzes and scans the environment for market, client and competitive trends to contribute to business strategy.
- Promotes the portfolio of products both internally and externally.
- Manages the product management function by ensuring the business justification to acquire the necessary resources.
- Effectively manages a Service Offer Management team, their resources, development and overall performance.
- Oversees the implementation of the organization’s overall product strategies into the business divisions and to the relevant stakeholders.
- Determines the feasibility of the concept for development and define and develop the product specifications.
- Develops and delivers product training and communication to client facing staff and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Establishes and develops product-pricing models and contribute to the identification of suitable promotional techniques and sales and distribution channels.
- Leads the product/service development effort and ensure that the products/services meet quality and client satisfaction requirements.
- Oversees the implementation of the complete product/service plan for the products/services within the portfolio.
- Oversees the alignment of the product and/or service set with the current and perceived market opportunities through new product and service offering launches, modifications, optimizations and terminations.
- Significant knowledge of market segments and product portfolio categories
- Significant knowledge of product lifecycles and technology solutions.
- Significant knowledge of product management disciplines and tools.
- Demonstrate financial awareness and commercial acumen.
- Possesses strategic thinking skills with sound presentation and public speaking abilities.
- Significant problem analysis and solution formulation capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
- Significant people management skills and the ability to coach other.
- Significant understanding of the organization's transformation and change programs.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the technologies related to product areas
- Significant understanding of the product’s functionality and capability.
- Displays an astute mind-set with critical thinking ability.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science or Business or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Scaled Agile and ITIL are beneficial.
- Significant experience in a similar position, preferably gained within a global technology services organization.
- Significant experience gained within the technology industry.
- Significant track record managing the implementation new products or product lines.
