Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Hours & Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Work Environment: Residential behavioral health setting serving approximately 6–10 adolescent patients, ages 12–17, and their families.
Salary / Hourly Rate: $20 - $24 per hour

Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct supervision, therapeutic support, and daily structure to adolescent residents ages 12–17. This position focuses on maintaining safety, monitoring behaviors, reinforcing routines, and contributing to a recovery-oriented residential environment. The role also involves interacting appropriately and professionally with residents' families and collaborating with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and support to adolescent residents throughout daily routines
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment
- Observe, document, and report patient behaviors, incidents, and progress accurately
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, meals, and room upkeep
- Support emotional regulation, coping skills, and positive peer interactions
- Conduct drug screenings in accordance with program protocols
- Participate in therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming
- Monitor resident movement, attendance, and transitions within the facility
- Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams to support treatment goals
- Communicate professionally and appropriately with residents and their families
- Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the residence
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and required documentation
- Remain awake and attentive throughout the entire overnight shift
- Perform additional duties as needed to support patient care and program operations
Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of behavioral health experience required; 1–2 years preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with adolescents or in residential or care-based settings preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Must pass required background checks
- Must possess or be eligible for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must live within 10 miles of Shea Boulevard and N 114th St. in Scottsdale
- Must be available Friday–Sunday from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Must be able to remain awake for the entire overnight shift
