Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white-sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.About the Role
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Banquet Manager to join our pre-opening team. Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, this position will lead all banquet operations, ensuring the seamless planning and execution of meetings, weddings, social celebrations and special events while delivering highly personalized service and memorable guest experiences.
What You Will Do
- Lead all aspects of banquet operations, from event setup and pre-service preparation through execution, breakdown and post-event follow-up.
- Participate in pre-opening activities, including development of standard operating procedures, selection and organization of operating equipment, setup of event spaces and simulation of banquet experiences.
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach and develop the Banquet team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability and genuine care.
- Review Banquet Event Orders and function details to ensure a complete understanding of timing, setup, menus, beverage service, audiovisual requirements and special guest requests.
- Conduct pre-event meetings and daily briefings to communicate responsibilities, service sequences and important event details to the team.
- Collaborate closely with Conference Services, Catering Sales, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering and other departments to ensure flawless event execution.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence during events, anticipating guest needs and ensuring service is delivered with precision, warmth and professionalism.
- Build relationships with event organizers, hosts and guests and respond promptly to requests, changes or concerns.
- Ensure banquet rooms and outdoor event spaces are set according to approved floor plans, service standards, safety requirements and guest expectations.
- Coordinate staffing and work assignments according to event requirements, business levels and established productivity guidelines.
- Maintain accurate inventories and ensure the proper care, storage and control of banquet furniture, china, glassware, silverware, linens, audiovisual equipment and operating supplies.
- Monitor departmental labor, beverage controls, equipment costs, expenses and opportunities to increase banquet revenue without compromising service quality.
- Ensure compliance with food-safety, responsible beverage-service, occupational health and safety, sanitation and fire-life-safety requirements.
- Review event results, guest feedback and operational challenges and implement improvements for future functions.
- Support resort-wide events, VIP experiences, residential functions and other Food and Beverage operations as required.
What You Bring
- University degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, Event Management or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of three years of banquet leadership experience within a luxury hotel, resort, convention or high-volume events environment.
- Strong knowledge of banquet service, event setup, Banquet Event Orders, staffing, beverage controls, operating equipment and food-safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead large teams, manage multiple simultaneous events and remain organized and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Experience with Opera, a point-of-sale system and event-management or catering software is preferred.

Schedule & Hours
- This is a full-time position.
- The successful candidate must be flexible to work early mornings, days, evenings, late nights, weekends and public holidays based on the event calendar and operational needs.
- Scheduled days and hours will vary depending on meetings, weddings, social events and other resort functions.
