Your next career opportunity
As Associate Software Engineer, you will build and enhance AURIN’s cloud-first platforms for urban research. You will develop technical skills across modern languages, data systems and cloud tools while collaborating with experts.
What you will deliver:
- Contribute to designing, developing, testing and maintaining software components that power AURIN’s digital research infrastructure platforms.
- Implement integrations and RESTful services that connect data, analytical tools and visualisation systems for researchers and policymakers.
- Work within a team-based squad, pairing with senior engineers to solve technical challenges and deliver sprint objectives.
- Apply best-practice version control, CI/CD and containerisation workflows to support reliable, scalable deployments.
- Participate in documentation, support, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring systems remain usable, secure and well-governed.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold entry-level experience across the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through implementation, testing and maintenance.
- Possess foundational skills in languages such as Java, Python and JavaScript for application development.
- Understand web servers and databases, including technologies like Apache or Nginx, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Work effectively within small collaborative teams and balance competing priorities to meet agreed deadlines.
- Use modern collaborative engineering practices, including git-based workflows, CI/CD, agile delivery and containerised deployments.
- Demonstrate motivation to up-skill through mentoring, self-directed learning and formal professional development opportunities.
