Job Summary

The Associate Contract Specialist is responsible for coordinating the implementation, maintenance, and administration of provider and vendor contracts across the Medical, Behavioral Health, and Ancillary networks. This individual partners with internal departments to ensure contract terms are accurately and timely operationalized across systems, processes, and stakeholders. The Associate Contract Specialist manages contract implementation activities, tracks progress, resolves operational issues, supports compliance and audit requirements, and facilitates cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution and ongoing maintenance of contractual agreements. This role is also responsible for implementation documentation, operational support, issue resolution, and process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing (top five)

• Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of provider and vendor contracts across all lines of business.
• Facilitate cross-functional implementation activities to ensure contractual requirements are operationalized accurately and within established timelines.
• Ensure all executed contracts adhere to standard contracting policies and guardrails, or that the exception process has been followed when variations from the standard are necessary.
• Review and document contract provisions, reimbursement methodologies, and operational requirements to support implementation efforts.
• Support testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure contract configuration accuracy and operational readiness.
• Develop, maintain, and facilitate the claims recycle process to correct provider payments in collaboration with claims processing partners.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve implementation and operational issues.
• Monitor implementation milestones, track deliverables, and communicate status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Maintain implementation documentation, tracking tools, and operational records.
• Assist with regulatory, compliance, and audit-related activities as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned, with or without accommodation.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

Certification and Licensure

Education

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

• Required (minimum): 1-3 years of work experience.
• Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in managed care or other health care environment with knowledge of health care market and needs/concerns of health care providers is highly desirable.

Skill Requirements

•  Must be a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage large volumes of information and multiple assignments while consistently meeting service level agreements (SLAs), project milestones, and established deadlines; attention to detail is key.
• Requires the ability to understand and interpret the financial, legal, and operational aspects of a contract, with emphasis on the implementation of contract terms.
• Possesses a strong customer focus and expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
• Requires the ability to understand the nuances of the various product lines and the unique operational and financial features associated with each product.
• Requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently under pressure in a constantly changing environment while balancing multiple priorities and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
• Requires the ability to learn and apply Point32Health policies consistently and seek guidance when necessary.
• Must be able to conceptualize and envision the impact of change and seek out efficiencies at work. Must be flexible and a proponent/champion of change.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to develop strong working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Requires excellent diplomacy and oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to coordinate efforts among various departments at Point32Health.
• Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member.
• Dedicated and committed to quality processes and outcomes.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):

• Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
• Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
• May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.

Salary Range

$57,798.51 -$86,697.77

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization.  The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
