Our Summer Internship Program: 

Our Summer Internship Program (PLOT) offers an opportunity to gain meaningful experience in Agricultural Sales while building the foundation for a successful career. During this 12-week program, you'll learn from industry professionals, tackle real-world projects, and develop working knowledge of agronomy, crop inputs, customer relationship management, sales strategy, and agricultural business operations. You'll have the opportunity to present your internship learnings directly to leadership. This is more than just an internship. It's your chance to make a real impact, build professional knowledge, and sharpen your abilities in a dynamic, results-driven environment. Successful completion of the PLOT program can also earn you a scholarship between $1,000 and $3,000. 

Role Overview: 

As a Wilbur-Ellis Agricultural Sales Intern, you'll gain experience in customer engagement, agronomic sales support, crop production planning, and business development activities. You'll work alongside experienced sales and agronomy professionals to learn how growers make crop management decisions and how innovative agricultural solutions create value on the farm. 

Responsibilities may include participating in customer visits and field days, assisting with crop scouting and product evaluations, conducting market and agronomic research, supporting sales planning activities, analyzing field and customer data, helping prepare recommendations and presentations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support customer success. 

You'll have the opportunity to share your ideas, contribute innovative solutions, and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and opportunities facing today's agricultural producers. At the conclusion of your internship, you'll prepare and present a final PowerPoint presentation highlighting your project work, key learnings, and overall experience. 

What You Bring to the Role: 

As an intern, we understand you may not already have extensive professional experience. We are seeking a college student pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field with an interest in agricultural sales and customer service. 

Overall, we are looking for someone with strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills; attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively; intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn; a self-starter who is eager to contribute ideas and collaborate with others; and someone who brings their full self to work each day. We want to help you grow, and we want to learn from you, too.

• Hands-on experience evaluating crop production practices, agricultural products, and customer needs 

• Exposure to agricultural chemicals, fertilizer, seed, technology solutions, and integrated crop management strategies 

• Mentorship from experienced sales and agronomy professionals 

• A deeper understanding of how agronomic expertise and customer partnerships drive grower success and business growth 

• Real-world experience contributing to projects that support customer satisfaction, crop performance, and commercial success across the agricultural industry 

Compensation and Benefits: 

• In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $24.00 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
