Structural Steel CNC Operator

Starting Rate: $23.00/hour + $3.00 night differential (higher depending on experience)
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to work with structural steel materials in a fast-paced fabrication environment. This position involves operating CNC equipment, handling large steel components, reading shop drawings, and ensuring finished work meets required specifications.
What You'll Do
Operate and set up CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions and production requirements.
Use overhead cranes and rigging equipment to position and secure beams, plates, and other steel materials.
Monitor equipment during production and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
Measure completed work using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision tools.
Make basic programming changes to accommodate varying material sizes and thicknesses.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot basic machine issues.
Keep the work area clean and follow OSHA and shop safety requirements.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training is a plus.
At least 2 years of CNC machine operation experience, preferably in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging is preferred.
Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
Able to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment.
