About the Role


Lead and manage a team of Software Engineers in delivering reliable, secure, and scalable digital solutions that support business objectives. The role is responsible for overseeing software development activities, ensuring technology solutions are delivered on time and within quality standards, while driving engineering excellence, operational stability, and team development.

The incumbent will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technology teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. In addition, the role is accountable for people management, capability development, coaching, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

Delivery Management & Execution


  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software development initiatives, ensuring projects are completed within agreed timelines, scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Translate product roadmap and business requirements into executable technical delivery plans.
  • Manage application development activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints, and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with technology standards, architecture guidelines, security requirements, and operational processes.
  • Oversee application releases, deployment planning, and post-production support activities.
  • Drive delivery predictability through effective sprint planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution.

Software Engineering Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineers across development activities.
  • Promote engineering best practices including secure coding, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud-native development.
  • Ensure applications are designed with scalability, maintainability, resilience, and performance in mind.
  • Partner with enterprise architects and solution designers to ensure alignment with technology standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality, development productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Support technology modernization efforts and technical debt remediation activities.

People Management & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Software Engineers and Technical Leads.
  • Conduct performance management, goal setting, career development, and succession planning activities for team members.
  • Foster employee engagement and cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
  • Identify capability gaps and implement learning and development plans to strengthen engineering competencies.
  • Manage resource allocation and workforce capacity to support delivery commitments.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of engineering talent.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Project Managers, architects, and other technology teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Serve as the primary technology contact for assigned applications and platforms.
  • Work closely with vendors and external partners to support delivery and operational requirements.
  • Ensure business expectations are managed appropriately and technology commitments are met.

Application Support & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure stability, availability, and performance of production applications under assigned portfolio.
  • Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor operational metrics and implement corrective actions to improve service reliability.
  • Support audit, risk, security, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation, knowledge management, and adherence to operational procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, computer science, or other related degree.

  • Min. 8 years’ professional experience within web, app or technical product management.
  • Well versed with the latest innovation in digital and able to transition a vision or an idea into reality within current limitations. Must be able to work hands-on.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the product management lifecycle and of web/application best practices.
  • Able to organize, prioritise and manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of a variety of methodologies from Agile to Waterfall, and of common software development practices.
  • Preferred technical knowledge/skills
    • ASP & VB.NET, Bootstrap, Telerik, web services development (json, soap), Oracle, SQL, Sybase, JAVA, Java Servlet 2.0, Window batch script; XCOM, SFTP, Crystal Report, Share Point, AEM, DevSecOps, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Service Bus, BPM, API Gateway
