About the role
As a Children & Families Ministry Assistant (Delivery), this is your opportunity to support the delivery of safe, engaging and faith-filled programs that help children and families build connection, belonging and participation in the life of the Corps
Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, part-time role, offering 19 hours a week, based on site in Howrah, Tasmania
How you will make an impact
- Support the delivery of engaging children and families’ programs, events, outreach activities and camps.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, parents and carers, encouraging connection and participation in the life of the Corps.
- Deliver age-appropriate faith development opportunities for children through a range of ministry programs and activities.
- Create safe, welcoming and engaging ministry environments that align with The Salvation Army’s mission, values and child-safe standards.
- Recruit, support and develop volunteers, ensuring compliance with screening, safeguarding and onboarding requirements.
- Work collaboratively with ministry teams to provide holistic support for children and families while maintaining compliance with policies, safety and risk management requirements.
What you will bring
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Certificate IV level in ministry or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills is desirable.
- A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)
- Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment.
- Experience building supportive and inclusive relationships with children and families
- A national police record check is required
- Drivers Licence
- Working With Children Check
