Job Description

The Technology Business Transformation Consultant serves as an internal consultant, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to diagnose complex challenges and deliver measurable business outcomes. This role independently gathers and synthesizes information, identifies root causes, develops data-informed recommendations, and drives transformation initiatives through implementation before transitioning ownership to the appropriate business or technology team.

Our team partners across the enterprise and the Technology Team to identify, shape, and implement meaningful change. We combine consulting-caliber problem solving with hands-on execution to help the organization simplify complexity, improve performance, and deliver measurable business outcomes. Team members work across a variety of high-visibility business and technology transformation challenges rather than supporting a single product or function.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-functional transformation and process improvement initiatives across business and technology functions.

• Analyze business processes, operating models, and organizational challenges to identify opportunities and develop sustainable solutions.

• Independently gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information from multiple sources to clarify undefined problems, identify root causes, and develop a structured path forward.

• Build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels to achieve strategic outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and working groups to align stakeholders and accelerate decision-making.

• Drive initiatives from discovery through implementation, defining success measures, supporting adoption, measuring outcomes, and transitioning ongoing ownership to the appropriate business or technology team.

• Connect activities and deliverables to measurable business value, clearly articulating what changed, why it mattered, and the resulting outcome.

• Communicate complex concepts clearly through executive presentations, business cases, and written recommendations.
• Gather and leverage internal and external best practices, benchmark data, and industry insights to inform decision-making.
• Navigate ambiguity, remove roadblocks, and proactively drive progress with limited direction.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight or more years of related experience.

Required Skills/Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in management consulting, internal consulting, business transformation, operational excellence, strategy, or organizational effectiveness.
• Proven success leading cross-functional transformation initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Strong analytical thinking, executive communication, and storytelling capabilities.
• Experience influencing stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and driving decisions without direct authority.
• Proven ability to independently navigate ambiguity, structure complex problems, and develop actionable recommendations.

• Demonstrated accountability for driving progress and outcomes while influencing without direct authority or long-term ownership of the final product or solution.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industry experience.
• Experience leading enterprise or technology transformations, operating model redesign, organizational effectiveness, or technology-enabled business transformation initiatives.
• Experience consulting with and presenting recommendations to executive leadership teams.
• Experience developing business cases, value realization frameworks, and strategic performance measurements.
• Experience driving organizational change and stakeholder adoption across large, cross-functional environments.

• Ability to understand technology concepts, dependencies, and implementation considerations sufficiently to advise business and technology stakeholders; deep technical engineering expertise is not required.

Location expectations:
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. The approved locations for this role are Hopkins, Minnesota; Irving, Texas; and Cincinnati, Ohio.
