The Senior Program Manager leads cross-functional delivery of product development initiatives, including new product introductions, cost reduction, technology integration, and lifecycle product support. This role is accountable for translating product strategy, requirements, and business objectives into clear, executable delivery plans. The Senior Program Manager owns end-to-end delivery of programs, manages cross-functional dependencies and risks, and ensures program teams remain aligned on scope, timing, trade-offs, and execution priorities.

The Senior Program Manager brings structure to ambiguity, connects decisions to business outcomes, and maintains visibility across programs within their product line or line of business. This position works closely with product management, engineering, support, manufacturing operations, supply chain, marketing, quality, finance, IT, and other cross-functional partners. Success in this role is measured by predictable execution, clear program ownership, strong stakeholder alignment, proactive risk management, and on-time delivery of business and customer outcomes.

This role follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office work required on Wednesdays and Thursdays and as needed to support collaboration and program actions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned programs of moderate complexity through planning, execution, launch readiness, and closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated program plans that reflect scope, timing, capacity, dependencies, risks, milestones, and key decision points.
• Manage dependencies, resource constraints, sequencing, and delivery risks across related programs within the product line or line of business, escalating conflicts with clear recommendations.
• Frame trade-offs with clear options, impacts, risks, and recommendations to drive timely decisions when scope, schedule, cost, capacity, quality, customer needs, or downstream commitments conflict.
• Translate product requirements and business objectives into clear delivery scope, milestones, and product realization plans in partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Lead programs through Generac NPD processes, including milestone, design, and gate reviews using accurate, decision-ready information.
• Drive execution with appropriate urgency by identifying blockers, clarifying ownership, escalating risks, and ensuring teams understand the decisions and actions required to maintain progress.
• Understand technical decisions at a systems level and surface schedule, cost, compliance, integration, or dependency implications proactively.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment with documented outcomes, clear ownership, and proactive management of inter-team dependencies and conflicts.
• Own change control for material changes to scope or plan, including impact assessment and decision documentation to secure stakeholder alignment.
• Apply lessons learned, propose improvements to program management and NPD practices, and help drive adoption across the PgM team and supported business areas.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Management, Computer Science, or another directly engineering-related field.
• 10 years of progressive experience in engineering, product management, or a related field, including 8 years of program management experience leading cross-functional teams through end-to-end delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing new product development programs from end-to-end, using a phase-gate (or similar) development process.
• Experience supporting full-system product releases including hardware, software, firmware, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and launch readiness.
• PMP, PgMP, or related certification with demonstrated practical application.
• Experience working with global teams, international suppliers, or distributed development and manufacturing organizations.

• Builds program plans based on scope, assumptions, dependencies, trade-offs, critical path, and risk.
• Connects program decisions to schedule, cost, quality, operational readiness, portfolio priorities, and customer outcomes.
• Understands product development at a systems level and identifies when technical decisions affect program delivery.
• Raises risks and issues early, explains their impact, and drives mitigation or corrective action in a timely manner.
• Ability to influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority while building trust and productive working relationships.
• Provides concise, decision-ready updates to senior leaders.
• Takes ownership of delivery misses, applies lessons learned, and improves planning and execution practices.

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Toronto, ON is $100,000 - $130,000 CAD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
