Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support on the production floor to resolve equipment or process-related issues.
- Create, validate, and document manufacturing processes (SOPs), including defining equipment and manpower requirements.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and MPIs (Manufacturing Process Instructions) for server assembly and rack integration.
- Investigate and resolve operational problems, including equipment issues, material variances, and production bottlenecks, to maintain smooth operations.
- Manage ECO/ECN/MCO/PA/Deviation and ensure smooth implementation on the live line without stopping production.
- Provide production training in the areas of MPI.
- Manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure accurate routing setup in SFCS systems
- Manage and Maintain Shop Floor Control System (SFCS).
- Define tooling scope and oversee the design and building of fixtures/jigs required for assembly.
- Lead the "First Article Inspection" (FAI) and sample building phases to validate process capability before mass production.
- Analyze production line defects and lead root cause analysis to improve Production Yield and reduce scrap rates.
- Assist in resolving quality complaints and implement corrective actions for production line problems.
- DFM/DFA Leadership: Lead Design for Manufacturing/Assembly reviews to ensure Server/Rack designs are viable for high-speed assembly.
- NPI to MP Handover: Manage the transition from New Product Introduction to Mass Production, ensuring process capability (Cpk) is met before full ramp-up.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into production defects using 8D or 5-Why methodologies.
- Yield Improvement: Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap and rework rates.
- Manage the test Infrastructure BOM, collaborate with MFG tech to set up the SLT/RLT infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain the floor stock BOM. Perform continuous improvement using the Lean program.
- Perform time/motion study and capacity analysis for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with production teams to address Process/quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with QE/TE/PM to ensure alignment of quality objectives and priorities.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Industrial or Mechanical), or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Established analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong continuous improvement mindset to drive and identify improvement plans.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of standard product development processes
- Knowledge of DFx.
- Understanding PFMEA and Six Sigma processes is highly desirable.
- Proficient in MS/Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Flexibility to travel to other client sites
Compensation: $95,000 - $130,000
