We’re seeking someone to join our Finance Risk and Assurance (FinRiA) team as a Vice President in Finance Division.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources.

This is a Vice President level position to lead the Mumbai Finance Risk and Assurance (FinRiA) - Finance Operational Risk Incidents governance function, within the Risk, Assurance, Governance & Control Job Family which provides oversight and monitoring of operational risk or third party/outsourcing for the global Finance division, validation and testing of financial and regulatory reports and reinforcement of regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.

The FinRiA group is also represented in our Tokyo, Hong Kong, Glasgow, London and New York offices performing an oversight, governance and execution role in relation to the Finance division in support of the Firm's operational risk programs and objectives. The group interacts across all areas of Finance, Firm Operational Risk Department, the Front Office, Internal Audit as well as Operations, providing accurate risk reporting across Finance whilst furthering the risk management culture and infrastructure.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise
  • Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area
  • Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards
  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Produce / Review risk reporting for various functions within Finance - functional cut and geographical cut. Work with global FinRiA colleagues to meet team deliverables: particularly production of risk reports and analysis of risk information and metrics.
  • Perform monitoring and review activities over risk incidents, issues and action plans logged in FinRiA owned tools.
  • Perform data analysis for identification of thematic issues and escalate, suggest remediation as appropriate. Assisting and supporting team members and global colleagues in development of enhanced reporting and improved risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Partner with colleagues and internal clients on various projects, for example improve the collection, monitoring and reporting of risks and key risk indicators.
  • Participate in efforts for process standardization, short-term tactical improvements and longer-term strategic initiatives to enhance metrics reporting processes.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division
  • Strong technical skills
  • Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members
  • Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks
  • MBA in Finance or a Chartered Accountant with at least 10 years’ experience in the Finance industry, preferably with an Operational risk reporting or a management reporting background, with at least 3-5 years of people management experience.
  • Proven track record of managerial / leadership skills
  • Ability to take charge and drive projects and changes - honours accountability.
  • Appreciation of operational risk concepts
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Committed and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate initiative & problem-solving abilities
  • Strong client and partner relationship abilities
  • Analytical skills with a control focus and high regard for attention to detail
  • Strong MS office skills - especially MS Excel and MS Power point.
