We're seeking someone to join our FP&A team as a Quantitative Developer.

 

Join Morgan Stanley’s Corporate FP&A team and help re-engineer how a global financial institution forecasts revenues and balance sheet. This is a high-impact opportunity for a quantitative developer, strategist, or engineering-minded modeller who wants to build scalable forecasting platforms, apply advanced analytics, and bring ML/AI-driven solutions into real business decision-making.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Quantitative Modelling, Software Engineering, and Technology, contributing to a flagship transformation initiative that will modernize the Firm’s forecasting framework. If you enjoy solving complex problems, writing robust code, and building models that move from concept to production, this role is designed for you.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and enhance quantitative forecasting models for revenues, balance sheet, and key financial drivers

  • Build scalable, production-ready solutions on modern platforms, contributing to architecture design and technical implementation

  • Translate complex business and financial requirements into robust modelling frameworks and technical specifications

  • Partner with Finance, Strats, and Technology teams to industrialize models and ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability

  • Apply machine learning, AI, statistical modelling, and advanced analytics to improve forecasting accuracy and insight generation

  • Contribute to model lifecycle activities, including documentation, governance, validation, and engagement with Model Risk teams

  • Help shape the long-term evolution of forecasting infrastructure, automation, and data-driven decision-making across Corporate FP&A

What you’ll bring

  • Strong academic background in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance

  • Experience in a quant developer, strategist, modelling, analytics, or software engineering role

  • Strong programming skills, ideally in Scala, C++, Python, or similar languages

  • Engineering mindset with experience building clean, scalable, and production-quality solutions

  • Strong understanding of quantitative modelling, data structures, algorithms, or statistical methods

  • Interest in financial markets, forecasting, planning, or balance sheet modelling

  • Ability to break down complex problems and develop structured, practical solutions

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both quantitative and business stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Experience with forecasting models, financial planning, stress testing, or risk models

  • Exposure to ML/AI techniques, model deployment, or modern data platforms

  • Familiarity with Finance, Treasury, Capital, or FP&A processes

  • Experience working in a front-office strat, analytics, or model development environment
