Must hold state certification and licensure as a standard Plans Examiner in all 4 trades (building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Public Administration, Building Construction, or a related field.
- Florida Building Official certification.
- Experience serving as a Building Official, Chief Building Official, or Building Department leader within a public-sector, municipal, higher education, or similarly complex organization.
- Experience overseeing building permitting, inspections, plans review, and code compliance programs.
- Experience leading and developing professional and technical staff, including licensed code professionals.
- Experience managing departmental budgets, fee structures, and operational resources.
- Experience interpreting and applying Florida Building Code and related state regulations.
