We are looking for a compassionate, people-oriented person to support physically or mentally challenged adults in their everyday lives. Your daily routine can include:

What is Supported Living?

Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Able to support clients in their daily routines; including, but not limited to, nutrition, self-care, social, recreational, personal relationships, money management, etc.
  • Provide emotional support
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Important Details

  • Part-Time
  • Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
  • Overnight- pay varies based on the type of shift (sleep or awake) - $19.00
  • Must have proof of auto insurance
  • Must have own reliable vehicle to transport clients
  • Must be willing to take public transportation

Requirements

This entry-level position requires at least a High School Diploma and one year of training and experience in providing support services for individuals who are challenged with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field.

Important information

This role involves unsupervised, direct support of children and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. Duties include implementing behavior plans, managing behavioral escalations, assisting with daily living needs, entering private residences, and accessing confidential health and personal information. Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include verification of education, employment history, credentials, motor vehicle records (if applicable), and other role- or state-specific requirements.

Co-founded in 1981 by Dr. Gary LaVigna and Dr. Thomas Willis, IABA provides a wide range of services to both children and adults with developmental disabilities including those with challenging behavior. IABA is committed to providing the most advanced and quality services. Services provided to adults include supported employment and supported living.
