We are looking for Experienced Stress Analysis Engineers to add to our team! As an experienced Senior Stress Analyst, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of aerospace structures and lead teams of younger engineers. This position will encompass all program cycles including concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, testing, and flight. You will frequently use CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs to bring conceptual ideas to reality. Significant experience with analysis programs (Excel, Femap, MATLAB, etc.) is required. You will be responsible to quickly present quality results and reports to customers. You will collaborate between program management, design, and manufacturing teams. To be successful in this role strong presentation and interpersonal skills are a must.

Who are we looking for?
As an Experienced Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of aerospace structures and lead teams of younger engineers. We're looking for an R&D Machine and Controls Engineer who can do it all—design machinery, wire it up, and program it to work. This is a combination role for someone who moves fast, thinks creatively, and works across mechanical, electrical, and controls without getting stuck in silos.
You'll work on custom automation systems, R&D prototypes, experimental equipment, and new manufacturing processes. If you like building complete solutions from concept to commission, this is for you.

In this role you will exercise your mechanical design experience in an energetic and progressive consulting environment. You’ll join a group of talented engineers to develop new technologies and bring new products to market. You will further your experience developing designs, building and testing prototypes, and using the knowledge gained through testing to refine and improve on previous designs. You will be immersed in Fikst’s hands-on culture of experimentation and building, using our full CNC machining and turning centers, array of 3D-printers and laser cutters, and a huge arsenal of scientific and engineering equipment. You will do all of this in lively collaboration with your fellow engineers and our clients.
What You Bring to the Team:
Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this role is [$95,000 - $120,000]. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive compensation (LTIP), in addition to a competitive benefits package.

Acting as an expert in industrial process system design, the Senior Process & Mechanical Designer focuses on skid-based and containerized systems. This position handles complex, unclear, and high-risk technical and design challenges. It establishes design methods from concept through detailed development and influences technical choices across projects using sound judgment. The designer develops requirements documents and builds 3D models and 2D drawings. They conduct simulations and analyses related to components and systems. They support fabrication teams and lead reviews for internal teams and clients. They mentor designers and engineers at all levels, set standards, and guide leadership in prioritizing and implementing improvement initiatives. The role involves participating in internal and client meetings and leading proposals and cost estimates. You will collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and on-site service groups.
Lead Technical Design
Serve as a subject matter expert in process and mechanical system design for skid-based and modular systems. Drive designs from concept through release, solve complex technical challenges, and create key deliverables including P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping drawings.
Deliver Projects
Collaborate with project managers and engineering leads to complete projects optimally. Lead design reviews, support fabrication teams, contribute to proposals and estimates, and ensure designs meet schedule, budget, and performance goals.
Collaborate Across Teams
Partner with mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and field service teams. Engage directly with clients to present designs, gather requirements, and resolve technical challenges.
Mentor and Develop Talent
Guide designers and engineers at all levels. Establish and promote design standards, ensure alignment to engineering best practices, and help build a high-performing technical organization.
Drive Continuous Improvement

We’re hiring mechanical engineering interns excited about product development. In this role engineers will gain experience with mechanical design and consulting. Fikst’s projects are all hands-on and our prototyping shop includes two CNC’s, six 3D-printers, three laser cutters and a variety of other scientific and engineering equipment. Engineers will also gain experience meeting with and presenting to clients. This role is intended to last at least three months and ideally could last up to six months. Timing and start dates will be discussed during the interview process.
