General daily operations of the finance department, performing a wide variety of activities including but not limited to financial reporting, yearly- quarterly- monthly financial statements/closes, budgeting, board(s) support, and external monitoring, audits, and government filings.  Manage processes, controls, and support for other accounting activities including accounts payable and disbursements, accounts receivable/cash management and receipts, payroll and related tax filings, invoicing, and reporting to various funds and grantors.  The CFO is a member of the Corporate Management and Leadership teams and works closely with the organizational staff.   S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

The CFO is responsible for the financial leadership and stewardship of Kinexus Group (KG) and its subsidiaries.  Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO ensures the fiscal integrity, sustainability, and performance of the enterprise while aligning financial strategy, governance, and performance management across Kinexus Group.   This role supports the strategic and operational financial needs of subsidiary executives and their respective Boards by delivering responsive, value-driven financial leadership and services.

The CFO will have strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.  They will provide leadership and supervision of the Finance Department staff, manage and oversee payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and contract invoicing functions.  They will manage cash flow and forecasting on a monthly basis.  They will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements that are timely, accurate, and useful for both internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Financial Leadership & Governance

• Lead enterprise-wide financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership, the Investment Committee, and subsidiary Boards
• Serve as a key leader in corporate financial governance, including financial systems structure, accounting principles, and methodologies

Financial Operations & Oversight

• Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, cash receipts, and the month/quarter/year-end close process
• Ensure timely, accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Review balance sheet accounts regularly, identifying and resolving inconsistencies
• Manage and optimize enterprise cash flow, forecasting, and short-term liquidity in collaboration with the CEO
• Administer and optimize ERP systems, including user roles and financial functionality

Reporting, Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain uniform financial reporting systems, including standardized statements of activities across subsidiaries
• Ensure strong internal controls, administrative processes, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Interpret and communicate financial policies, regulations, and funding requirements to internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain compliance with OMB circulars and workforce system funding requirements
• Serve as primary point of contact for auditors; oversee successful completion of Single Audit, Form 990, 401k and consolidated financial statements

Partnership & Business Support

• Support subsidiary Executive Directors and their Boards with accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis
• Assist in ensuring proper cost allocation and program/grant reporting across entities
• Collaborate on new and existing initiatives, providing financial analysis, modeling, and due diligence
• Engage with external investors and funding partners, including reconciliation of statements and participation in performance reviews

Team Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness

• Lead, develop, and manage the finance team, including hiring, performance management, training, and team effectiveness
• Establish clear work allocation, accountability, and professional development pathways
• Ensure integration of finance within the broader organization to streamline services, reduce duplication, and maximize resources

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

• Bachelor’s degree in the areas of accounting, finance, or a related field   
• Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, general business practices, and project management

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information and present compelling messages to the leadership team

This position will oversee the entire program management and data entry operation for all seven counties in Region 8, inclusive of all reporting to Michigan Department of Corrections. This position has responsibility for contract and performance compliance with the Michigan Department of Corrections programs. The Manager, Program & Data will be responsible for procuring and managing contracts with vendors providing mental health services and housing. This individual will transcribe information into a uniform data collection spreadsheet provided by Michigan Department of Corrections. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy with an extreme amount of attention to detail. Operationally, this position oversees delivery of services being provided in accordance with the MDOC Service Parameter guidelines outlined in the Kinexus Group’s contract, and overseeing the execution from staff providing such services. Establishing great partnerships with the local parole offices, representative of Region 8, is a key focus and expectation.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

The Manager, Program & Data is a key leader within the Offender Success Team. They will be given the tools and support needed to carry out and execute all the functions for the position in the best of their ability.  

• Establishes and oversees the process for implementing the OS program, including but not limited to, preparation of monthly reports and other applicable systems to ensure contract goals and objectives are met.
• Responsible for the Michigan Department of Corrections contract, performance, compliance management and Project Manager duties.
• Manages attendance, performance, development, training and discipline for direct reports.
• Budget and resource allocation and management while working with Kinexus Group’s finance department.
• Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, monitors and evaluates the services provided by contractors/vendors engaged in re-entry services.
• Oversee and develop policies, systems, resources and services to support returning citizens to the community while working with Kinexus Group’s policy department.
• Contract creation, maintenance, and negotiation with all subcontractors for grants held with the Offender Success Program.
• Assist with all subcontractor recruitment, specifically with a high attention to detail recruiting private housing landlords to provide contracted housing, and available rent options post transition.
• Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database system, and transcribe data directly from service providers and/or vendors.
• Receive, track and enter data from check requests submitted by Resource Specialists to Kinexus Group’s finance department.
• Reconcile data with Resource Specialist and the Kinexus Group’s finance department to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Work closely with the Kinexus Group’s finance team to have timely and accurate expenditure entry.
• Oversee training of new OS staff and unified service implementation for all of region 8.
• Identify available grant funding to provide supportive services to returning offenders and work with the Director of Offender Services and Kinexus Group to provide technical assistance for submitting grant proposals as determined appropriate.
• Ensure the full integration of larger Kinexus Group Team to reduce duplication of effort, streamline services, and maximize all resources in support of the right service at the right time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Non-Profit Administration or related field

This position will support the Pathway Home 6 grant. This grant is expected to run for 42 months and provides funding for workforce development programs that support incarcerated individuals. The program goal is to improve employment outcomes and reduce recidivism by offering job training and other supportive services during incarceration and upon reentry into the community.

The Case Manager will play a pivotal role in the success of the Pathway Home 6 (PH6) reentry initiative. Each Case Manager will be assigned to one of the three county jails and will support job seekers pre- and post-release. The primary goal is to help job seekers develop and follow Individualized Development Plans (IDPs), overcome reentry barriers, gain employment, and reduce recidivism through consistent, trauma-informed, and strengths-based support.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

As a Case Manager for the Pathway Home 6 Program, you will be the primary support for justice-involved individuals transitioning from incarceration to the workforce. You will lead the intake and assessment process, develop and manage individualized reentry plans (IDPs), and provide direct services both pre- and post-release. This includes coordinating training and employment opportunities, connecting job seekers to supportive services, and tracking their progress toward self-sufficiency and reduced recidivism. Your role requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with jail staff, service partners, and employers while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with federal performance standards. Ultimately, you are expected to be a proactive, compassionate advocate who helps job seekers overcome barriers and achieve lasting success in the community.

Case Management & Participant Engagement

• Manage participant documentation, enrollment files, and intake logistics
• Provide one-on-one case management to incarcerated and recently released job seekers.
• Facilitate program intake, risk and needs assessments (e.g., LS/CMI), and career evaluations (e.g., JOFI).
• Collaborate with jail staff and service providers to conduct in-jail visits twice weekly.
• Develop and maintain Individualized Development Plans (IDPs) linked to training, employment, and support services.
• Connect job seekers with supportive services (housing, legal aid, mental health, substance abuse treatment, etc.).

Service Delivery & Support

• Assist job seekers in obtaining vital records such as ID, Social Security card, and birth certificate.
• Provide job readiness training (resume building, interview skills, digital literacy, etc.).
• Guide job seekers through job placement and post-release occupational training pathways.
• Follow up with job seekers weekly for at least 12 months post-release to support stability and job retention.

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as liaison between job seekers, jail staff, probation officers, public defenders, and external service providers.
• Attend and contribute to weekly case coordination and staff performance meetings.
• Work closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure timely, accurate entry of participant data into LS/CMI system.

Documentation & Performance Tracking

• Maintain thorough and confidential participant records.
• Collect employment verification, pay stubs, and training completion documents.
• Monitor WIOA indicators and recidivism metrics, including participant rearrest and reconviction status.
• Support data collection for quarterly and annual grant reporting.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to case management.

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience in human services, criminal justice, social work, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• At least two years of experience in case management or direct services.
• Strong interpersonal and motivational interviewing skills.
• Comfort working in correctional and community-based settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with electronic case management systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with justice-involved individuals or in reentry programs.
• Familiarity with WIOA and LS/CMI case management platform.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and wraparound service coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities from governmental agencies, foundations, and corporate funders.

• Assist program teams in preparing required grant reports to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
• Support grant award management activities, including maintaining documentation and coordinating reporting timelines.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of organizational materials commonly required for grant submissions, such as program descriptions, data summaries, and supporting documentation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and/or experience

We focus on transitioning these individuals back into the workforce so that they can seamlessly return to independent living.

Our long-term outcome is to give the individual tools and resources in which they can add strategies that are effective in assisting returning citizens to gain entry into suitable, meaningful and long-term employment. This position is responsible for delivering social support services to, and the data management of returning citizens in the tri-county area, as well as contract monitoring for Health and Behavioral Health providers for all seven counties in region 8. The specialist is also expected to recommend best practices for Offender Success protocols and continuously improve efficiency and cost effectiveness in relation to support purchases such as food and hygiene.

• Collaborate with Michigan Department of Corrections parole agents on support services for parolees including needs assessments.
• Conduct video in-reaches with MDOC prisons to document needs upon reentry to paroling county.
• Facilitate supportive services for parolees, including but not limited to vital documents, transportation, food, and clothing including bulk purchasing when required.
• Manage MI SOS relationship and create, distribute, track and reconcile all MI SOS vouchers.
• Manage and monitor vendors providing mental and behavioral health services including but not limited to contractual outcomes, performance, compliance and curriculum delivered.
• Manage and maintain data collection related to social support and health and behavioral health services to ensure effective reporting.
• Serve as a resource for One-Stop Center frontline staff in serving parolees and facilitating reverse referrals with Michigan Department of Corrections parole agents.
• Process and track invoices for all services provided in Social Support and Health and Behavioral Health service parameters.
• Reconcile vouchers, receipts and invoices for services provided.
• Assist with housing checks and support services for parolees.
• Analyzing processes and updating protocols for efficiency in secretary of state partnership, and process for purchasing food and hygiene.
• Stay abreast of available community resources and recommend implementation to maximize OS grant funds.
• Manage participant files including services, support, and updated case notes marking progress of participant.

Team is made up of dedicated professionals whose role is to develop the local workforce and build a talent pipeline to meet current and future needs of employers in the area.  At the same time, we are helping jobseekers in our community find sustainable employment.  Customers come to the One Stop with many different skill levels and work with our specialists through coaching, scholarships for classroom training in high demand occupations, and on-the-job training opportunities.  We work closely with local businesses to connect jobseekers to multiple types of employment from entry level work to professional careers.

The Manager of Workforce Operations ensures that program activities, policies, and procedures are implemented as designed and completed according to established timelines. This role requires effective communication with supervisors, peers, and staff, as well as the ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions when needed. The Manager also oversees the operational rhythm of case managers who work directly with individuals seeking workforce services, providing coordination and guidance to staff delivering talent development services.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• Responsible for ensuring effective delivery of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Trade Adjustment Assistance, and Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment and other workforce development services under the auspices of the Executive Vice President, Workforce.
• Responsible for the delivery of customized training and other training products, including ITA (individual training accounts), ensuring that individuals who are enrolled into the program are tracked and documented in OSMIS and Salesforce.
• Responsible for the oversight and safety of all staff that is present within the Michigan Works! service center.
• Oversees the daily operations of the talent teams service delivery for WIOA DW/Adult and TAA, etc. in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties.
• Monitors team and individual key performance indicators (KPI’s) – including progress toward local and state performance metrics. Providing support and coaching to team surrounding goal achievement and deliverables.
• Conduct ongoing file monitoring of electronic and hard copy systems to ensure data validation and file integrity toward program compliance.
• Responsible for monitoring and tracking programmatic training and supportive service budgets.
• In coordination with Trainer and KG Risk Management, create and deliver adequate staff training, support, and ensuring quality services are present in Michigan Works! TAA, WIOA Adult/DW, and other workforce programs.
• Collaborate and engage with the performance manager to ensure performance metrics are monitored and reviewed monthly. Continuously assess productivity and goal achievement to determine areas of improvement.
• Works with KG Risk Management Team to prepare and comply with programmatic local, State and Federal auditing procedures.
• Development of Operating Procedures, job aids and training materials based on local, State, and Federal policy conferring with Vice President, Workforce and KG Risk Management Team.
• Maintain and share knowledge with the talent team of current services, high-demand sectors, and job openings.
• In collaboration with Human Resources, effectively screen and interview candidates for available positions within the talent team and deliver a robust onboarding process.
• Consistently create innovative ways to effectively develop marketing and recruitment strategies for the WIOA Adult/DW, TAA and other workforce programs.
• Develop and manage relationships with community partner agencies and businesses.
• Development and implementation of an ongoing effective workgroup geared towards addressing operational challenges as needed.
• Responsible for regular management and audit of each Career Development Specialist's physical and electronic files.
• Ensure the talent team provides great customer experience for job seekers, resulting in customer satisfaction.
• Manage attendance, performance, development, training and discipline for direct reports.
• Responsible for ongoing professional development to ensure that your management skills and program knowledge remains relevant to your management role.
• Accountability to align with the mission, vision, and values of Kinexus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business, human services, workforce development, or a related field
• Knowledge of workforce development programs and local labor market demand
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, peers, and staff
• Demonstrated ability to hire, train, develop, supervise, and manage staff
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and successfully lead a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), virtual meeting platforms

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Prior Case Management experience
• Knowledge of database systems including, but not limited to OSMIS and Michigan Talent Connect

THE TEAM:

The purpose of the Business Solutions Team is to support the Kinexus Group family of subsidiaries, utilizing a “Team of Teams” approach. The Business Solutions Manager, in coordination with the Director, Business Solutions, assists with overseeing the operations of the Business Solutions department throughout the Berrien, Cass and Van Buren region, ensuring alignment of programs and services to meet the needs of local employers. This administrative management position involves providing guidance and support to staff to ensure efficient and effective coordination of services between economic developers, educators, community partners, employers, and Michigan Works! programs.

Duties include program planning, assignment of staff functions, coordination of service delivery, program reporting and related activities. Responsibilities are carried out directly, and through supervision of assigned staff, with wide latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate the activities of Business Team including but not limited to: employer outreach, education on Michigan Works services, grant management, and employer referral to external partners for additional services.
• Maintain communication with agencies, contractors, employers, training vendors and other resource allocators to ensure optimal operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Business Team in serving employers.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of systems and procedures to assure efficient utilization of resources and achievement of objectives.
• Supervise staff; provide guidance and direction; evaluate staff performance and assess need for training and career development.
• Coordinate the preparation and processing of forms and records; prepare and present special and routine reports, including program evaluations. Review reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished with program objectives and, if necessary, make modifications/changes.
• Identify Federal, State, and local resources that can be utilized to further program objectives; maintain linkages to enhance cooperative planning and efficient delivery of services.
• Develop program plans, proposals and assist with funding applications for employers.
• Enter data to track business engagement in Salesforce. Prepare routine and special reports as required.
• Attend professional development activities, seminars, and sit on external boards and committees to assist in resolving long-term problems in the business community such as poverty and unemployment.
• Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Supervisory skills necessary to effectively manage the daily operations and administration of assigned functions and individuals.
• Ability to apply analytical skills in identifying operational problems and potential solutions.
• Written and verbal skills necessary to prepare and deliver routine/special reports and other required documentation.
• Communication and organizational skills that contribute to a quality work environment and the ability to work as a team.

This position serves as the primary lead for the GPMS data system, provides support and quality assistance for all Michigan Works related systems (ApprentiScope and OSMIS), and manages the Request for Funding (RFF) tracker. The role works closely with program staff to support data entry, resolve issues, and promote data quality.

Data Systems Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact and lead user for the GPMS data system, including data entry guidance, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support staff use of ApprentiScope and OSMIS, ensuring data is entered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with data clean-up, validation, and routine quality checks across systems.
  Run standard reports and data queries to support program tracking and internal reporting needs.

Request for Funding (RFF) Tracking

• Serve as the lead coordinator for the Request for Funding (RFF) tracker.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of funding requests, approvals, timelines, and outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal staff to ensure required documentation and data are complete.
• Prepare summary reports related to RFF activity as requested.

Data Quality & Support

• Monitor data entry timelines and completeness, identifying gaps or inconsistencies.
• Communicate data issues or trends to supervisors and program leads.
• Assist with basic staff training and one-on-one support related to data systems.
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal data reporting requirements.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of participant and program data.
• Stay informed of basic system updates, policy changes, and reporting requirements.
• Participate in meetings or user groups related to assigned data systems, as appropriate.

The Apprenticeship Development Specialist is a key member of the Michigan Works! team, responsible for supporting the development and implementation of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs through comprehensive, end-to-end case management. This role manages apprenticeship data across the full lifecycle—from enrollment and ongoing case management to completion or exit—while collaborating closely with leadership and Kinexus Group partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive data-informed program success.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Manages data in CRM systems for both internal and external as needed.
• Enroll participants in apprenticeship programs and cases manage them to achieve successful outcomes.
• Works alongside the BSM’s to support the strategy and grow the apprenticeship service.
• Supports the internal referral process working alongside the apprenticeship development coordinator and manager.
• Works alongside BSM’s to ensure smooth relationship management with local employers.
• Assists with developing a communication strategy for apprenticeships.
• Collaborates on sector level activities and events related to apprenticeships including race to talent.
• Ensures accurate and timely data entry across all required systems; maintain complete and compliant participant files and conduct monthly audits to ensure data integrity and adherence to program requirements.
• Utilize assessment tools to evaluate participant skills, interests, and abilities; assist with individualized career planning; and provide continuous monitoring and support throughout the career development process.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of workforce development programs, including WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), Apprenticeship Building America (ABA), and other applicable funding sources as awarded.
• Manage the full lifecycle of case management activities for participants enrolled in apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
