As a Staff Machine Learning Platform Engineer, you will help design, improve, and operate a scalable ML platform to accelerate model training, deployment, and governance. You are the technical bridge between data science and production engineering.  You’ll be joining a small but deeply critical team that scales Faire’s ability to support tens of thousands of local businesses in a constantly narrowing retail landscape.

What You Will Do

• Design and operate ML infrastructure, including workspaces, clusters, jobs, and workflows

What it takes

About this role

The Account Manager, Fulfillment owns the post-onboarding relationship for a portfolio of brands enrolled in Fulfilled by Faire. This is a commercially-oriented role sitting at the intersection of customer success, strategic account management, and operational consulting. The AM is accountable for brand retention, unlocking addressable SKUs within FbF, and driving the consolidation of non-Faire wholesale volume onto the platform — ultimately increasing FbF's share of each brand's total distribution.

This role requires equal fluency in relationship management and data-driven storytelling. The best AM will translate operational metrics into commercial conversations, coach brands on the cost, ease, and growth benefits of FbF, and proactively identify at-risk accounts before churn signals become churn events.

What you’ll do 

1. Business Reviews & Brand Relationships

• Own the QBR/MBR cadence for your portfolio of brands — prepare, deliver, and follow up on structured business reviews that connect FbF operational health to brand revenue outcomes. Note: this is specific to Fulfillment, different than BSMs
  • BSM = general portfolio of programs and brand perf on Faire, how's it all going, ROI of each program etc.
  • Fulfillment AM = goal of retention + revenue; then how to coach brands on cost/ease/growth
• Build multi-threaded relationships within brand accounts (founder, ops lead, sales director) to ensure Faire has a durable presence beyond a single point of contact.
• Develop and maintain a living account plan for each brand documenting their wholesale strategy, growth goals, pain points, and consolidation opportunity.

2. Churn Prevention & Retention

• Maintain a real-time risk register for your portfolio — flag brands showing signs of disengagement (declining order volume, SLA friction, support ticket escalation, low catalog activity) and activate retention protocols before churn is formally triggered.
• Lead escalation management for brands experiencing fulfillment issues; coordinate internally with FbF Ops and Warehouse teams to resolve and close the loop with the brand (including post onboarding questions + feedback)
• Build and recommend custom “save” plans for at-risk accounts, including fee concessions, operational audits, and executive engagement where warranted (ie where to offer appeasements and program benefits)
• Conduct structured off-boarding interviews with any brand that churns to capture root cause and feed insights back to product, ops, and leadership.

3. Consolidation & Non-Faire Wholesale Volume

• Map each brand's total wholesale footprint — identify the volume, channels, and retail segments currently fulfilled outside of Faire and quantify the consolidation opportunity.
• Build and present a compelling consolidation case tailored to each brand: cost per order comparison (FbF vs. 3PL vs. self-fulfill), SLA reliability benchmarks, and projected net margin impact of migrating volume to FbF.
• Develop milestone-based migration plans for brands willing to consolidate, coordinating with Warehouse Ops to ensure capacity and onboarding support.
• Track consolidation pipeline and report GMV-at-risk (volume outside Faire) alongside GMV-converted (volume successfully moved to FbF) in your portfolio metrics.

4. Catalog Penetration & Upsell

• Audit each brand's active Faire catalog against their full SKU assortment — identify categories, price points, or product lines with low representation on the platform.
• Partner with brands to expand catalog depth and breadth, with particular focus on high-velocity SKUs and seasonal assortment that can drive incremental retailer demand.
• Position catalog growth as a retention lever: more SKUs in FbF increases platform stickiness and makes brand consolidation structurally harder to reverse

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in account management, customer success, or strategic partnerships — preferably in a marketplace, logistics, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS context.
• Demonstrated track record of owning commercial outcomes (retention, expansion revenue, or upsell) within a named account portfolio.
• Strong analytical fluency — able to pull and synthesize data from BI tools (Looker, Mode, Snowflake) to build business cases and executive-level narratives.

This position will be a key contributor to the tax team and will be responsible for providing income tax provision and direct and indirect tax compliance support, as well as process improvements to scale tax operations. As the Value Pillar Lead, you will own the product strategy and economic performance of this portfolio — operating with the judgment and discipline of a business line owner while remaining deeply grounded in product craft. You’ll build and lead a high-performing team of Product Managers and partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Risk, Data, Design, and Marketing to evolve and scale these capabilities. You will be the product leader for high-impact FinTech & Ops initiatives that drive efficient growth across Faire’s marketplace through financial technology and the enablement of our operational teams. As a Staff PM you’ll own product strategy and delivery for payments and financial infrastructure, decision-making tools and frameworks in the areas of risk, identity and underwriting, customer support, returns and resale flows. You will also look after the shared technology and experimentation infrastructure that ties them together. Your job is explicitly dual-mandate: First, you’ll empower our operational teams to reduce cost by expanding automation while maintaining or improving customer experience. At the same time, you’ll redeploy those gains into growth by improving policies, reducing friction in information collection and deploying human resources towards the most complex cases (capital, curated experiences, high-touch recovery). You will be managing a portfolio of bets, operate at the intersection of finance, ops and CX, run rigorous experiments that trade off efficiency vs. growth and drive high single digit improvements in annualized contribution profit.

What you’ll do

• Own roadmap & outcomes. Define a 6–12 month roadmap balancing efficiency experiments across the portfolio (payment routing, customer support contact rate reduction, Identity auto-decisioning, returns economics) with growth investments (capital pilots, curated onboarding, premium phone support) and platform investments to make our operational teams more effective at self- serving during iteration. You’ll be accountable for high single digit % Contribution Profit uplift.
• Design and run experiments. Lead rigorous A/B, cohort and holdout experiments with pre-specified success criteria that measure CP, CX risk and incremental GMV/LTV.
• Lead decisioning product work. Co-own returns/ markdowns, underwriting and IDV policy design, payment routing rules, limit adjustments. Deliver low- latency decision APIs, deterministic rulesets + ML integrations, and recoverability controls. 
• Improve payment economics. Execute multi-provider routing and adoption of lower-cost payment rails (e.g., bank transfers) to reduce fees and free-up margin for growth investments.
• Expand self-solve modalities in support. Reduce contact rate without harming customer satisfaction by expanding the availability and effectiveness of our virtual assistant for customer support. Empower operational teams to drive iteration and improvement with limited engineering bandwidth.
• Scale returns & resale economics. Redesign and implement improved returns policies, partner on liquidation/resale flows, and recover margin to fund growth.
• Be the voice of tradeoffs. Use a documented rubric to decide when to automate vs. invest in human-driven growth; when to build vs buy technology; where to invest across the portfolio; how to manage growth vs efficiency investments. present tradeoffs and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate across a broad base of senior stakeholders across key operational and product teams: Finance (payment economics, capital funding), Risk & Legal (underwriting guardrails, compliance, identity verification), CX (virtual assistant quality and adoption), Operations & Fulfillment (returns/resale flows), Engineering & Data Science (platform, models, instrumentation), Design/ UX (user experiences around contacting operational teams, self solving and inputting key information), Product Marketing (capital rollouts, customer touchpoints).

Qualifications and Competencies
Required

• Experience: 8+ years product management experience; prior Staff or equivalent senior PM experience preferred.
• Domain: Demonstrated experience on marketplace products and financial technology (payment processors, routing strategies, merchant economics, or customer/merchant capital programs).
