About the Role

As our Structural VP, you’ll be joining and leading our growing Structural engineering team and reporting to the SVP of Engineering. The ideal candidate will lead the Structural engineering team across our multi-disciplinary company for utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, high-voltage, and wind projects. The role balances a strong technical background with strategic leadership and managing organizational financials.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the daily operations and growth of the Structural engineering department.
• Lead strategic growth through a detailed hiring plan and drive revenue growth.
• Develop the Annual Operation Plan (AOP) for the Structural engineering department, including salary, training, travel, expenses, bonus payouts, and hiring.
• Develop long-range Structural engineering plans, analyze needs, and present solutions to upper management. Make key Structural engineering decisions, ensure processes are scalable, and act as a key liaison between engineering departments and other key organizations.
• Oversee financials at an organizational level and complete proposals for PV, BESS, HV, and wind projects. Prepare and optimize project and departmental budgets, and manage resources effectively.
• Apply strong technical skills in Structural engineering design, including:
  • Tracker foundations, solar structural systems, and foundation remediation
  • Buildings, industrial infrastructure, and prefabricated systems
  • Deep and shallow foundation design, including piles, caissons, spread footings, and grade beams
  • Structural condition assessments and retrofit evaluations
  • Seismic, wind, and snow load analysis
• Oversee construction administration services, including inspection, reporting, and field modifications.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on modular equipment and enclosure foundations.
• Review and supervise calculations performed by others to ensure quality standards are met before stamping construction drawings and reports.
• Drive efficiency and implement best practices by recommending technological developments and optimizing workflows.

What We Are Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required); SE license a plus
• Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s (preferred) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Strong understanding of structural codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) and geotechnical-structural interactions
• Deep knowledge of structural design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP).
• Experience leading a team or organization is required. 
• 12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years in solar PV, substation, or within related projects in the energy field.
