The Role

As a VMware Virtualization Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for the administration, operation, and optimization of VMware vSphere platforms supporting enterprise, business‑critical environments. In this role, you will manage virtualized infrastructure components including storage and networking to ensure availability, performance, and service continuity.

You will support production environments under defined SLAs, execute platform lifecycle activities, and collaborate closely with operating systems, storage, network, and cloud teams. Your work will contribute directly to maintaining stable, scalable, and resilient virtualization platforms across complex IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and operate VMware vSphere platforms, including ESXi hosts and vCenter, supporting virtualized infrastructure environments.

• Manage virtual machines lifecycle activities, including creation, configuration, maintenance, and integration with storage and networking resources.

• Ensure platform availability and continuity through the administration of HA, DRS, and vMotion capabilities.

• Monitor platform performance, execute capacity planning, and troubleshoot incidents in production environments within defined SLAs.

• Execute patching, upgrades, hardening, backup integrations, and basic automation while collaborating with cross‑functional infrastructure teams.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience administering VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter).

• Experience managing virtualized environments, including virtual machine lifecycle, compute, storage, and virtual networking.

• Solid knowledge of high‑availability technologies such as HA, DRS, and vMotion.

• Experience monitoring performance, performing capacity planning, and troubleshooting incidents in production environments.

• Experience executing patching, upgrades, platform hardening, and backup integrations.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.

• Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation and collaboration with global teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with automation and scripting tools such as PowerCLI and/or Ansible.

• Exposure to enterprise backup solutions and integration with virtualization platforms.

• Experience working closely with OS, storage, network, and cloud teams.

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and operational best practices in SLA‑driven environments.
