Team & Context:

Murex is a global fintech leader providing trading, risk management, and processing solutions for capital markets. Our MX.3 platform is used by banks, asset managers, corporations, utilities, and other financial institutions worldwide. Interns work at the intersection of financial markets, technology, and business expertise, alongside experienced consultants and global teams.

We are hiring two Trading Domain Functional Interns, with one position focused on Foreign Exchange and the other focused on Fixed Income. Through structured onboarding and hands-on assignments, interns will develop an understanding of financial products, trading workflows, valuation and risk management concepts, and the MX.3 platform. Interns will contribute to projects addressing real business and technology challenges faced by leading financial institutions.

This opportunity is suitable for students seeking practical exposure to capital markets and financial technology. Strong interns may be considered for future graduate or full-time opportunities after completing their studies.

Your missions/What you’ll do?

Depending on the selected assignment and project needs, responsibilities may include:

• Develop hands-on knowledge of capital markets workflows, with a focus on either Foreign Exchange or Fixed Income products.
• Complete an onboarding program covering financial markets, financial products, and the MX.3 platform before joining a project team.
• Analyze business and functional challenges faced by financial institutions and translate business requirements into practical MX.3 solutions.
• Support implementation or client support activities, including requirements analysis, solution configuration, functional testing, validation of new functionality, and investigation of client issues.
• Validate trading, valuation, and risk management workflows and analyze results to confirm that solutions meet documented business requirements.
• Participate in client support or project and collaborate with consultants, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
• Contribute to client-facing initiatives for leading financial institutions and communicate findings clearly to technical and business audiences.
• Research internal innovative topics at the intersection of finance, quantitative analysis, risk management, and technology.

Your profile/Who you are?

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematical finance, financial engineering, quantitative finance or another closely related quantitative discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of financial markets and financial instruments, such as derivatives, swaps, bonds, foreign exchange products, or interest rate products.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
• Interest in understanding how financial products are traded, valued, and risk-managed.
• Ability to learn new financial, functional, and technical concepts quickly and apply them to practical problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and present findings clearly.
• Collaborative and team-oriented working style, combined with a proactive and autonomous mindset.
• Strong interest in capital markets, financial technology, and complex business systems. Assets
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, Excel, or another analytical or programming tool.
• Previous experience working with financial data, valuation models, testing, or technical business analysis.

Compensation: CAD $25.45 per hour.
