The Team Lead II, Accounting oversees the delivery and performance of services within the Record-to-Report subprocess, ensuring efficient and high-quality processes and compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Responsible for managing a medium-sized team (direct reports only).
How you will contribute
- Oversee the Record-to-Report (RTR) subprocess, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reported, and compliant with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting, including management of journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments in line with internal controls.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial data.
- Ensure adherence to SOX/internal controls and support internal and external audits through timely resolution of audit queries and remediation of identified issues.
- Manage optimal utilization of team resources by balancing workloads, driving productivity, and delivering against established KPIs, SLAs, and performance targets.
- Identify process inefficiencies, root causes, and operational risks, implementing corrective and preventive actions while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the RTR function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including AP, AR, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury teams, to ensure seamless end-to-end process alignment and effective issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring high levels of service satisfaction while supporting transition activities, knowledge transfer, and stabilization in a shared services environment.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members through ongoing training, performance management, and career development initiatives, fostering an inclusive, high-performing, and engaged team culture focused on talent retention.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Qualified professional (CA, CPA, CMA, ICWA) or Post graduation in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with strong exposure to the Record-to-Report (RTR) process with minimum 1-3 years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead, coach, develop, and engage high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and audit support processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and levels.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, balance workloads, monitor KPIs/SLAs, and deliver results in a fast-paced shared services or global business environment.
