Position: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Full-Time, Remote Work.

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

We are looking for a highly driven, ambitious, and results-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team.

This is a hands-on recruitment role where you will be responsible for the complete recruitment lifecycle from sourcing and interviewing candidates through to placement. The successful candidate must have strong recruitment instincts and the ability to identify not only candidates who meet the technical requirements of a role, but those who are genuinely the right quality and cultural fit for the company.

This role is suited to someone who is intense, energetic, outgoing, highly ambitious, and takes initiative naturally. We are looking for someone who does not need to be constantly managed and who takes personal ownership of getting roles filled with high-quality candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment process from initial role briefing through to successful placement.
• Source qualified candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, databases, Boolean search, and other recruitment channels.
• Proactively headhunt and approach both active and passive candidates.
• Review CVs and applications and identify candidates who meet the role requirements.
• Conduct initial screening calls and structured interviews.
• Assess candidates based on their experience, skills, communication, professionalism, and overall suitability.
• Evaluate candidates for company and culture fit, not simply whether they meet the minimum requirements.
• Coordinate candidates through the interview and selection process.
• Manage candidate communication and follow-up throughout the recruitment process.
• Support offer discussions and drive candidates through to successful placement.
• Ensure a smooth handover once a candidate is successfully placed.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
• Take ownership of candidate quality and ensure only strong, well-vetted candidates are presented.
• Continuously develop talent pools for current and future hiring requirements.
• Maintain accurate candidate information within the relevant recruitment systems.
• Keep candidates engaged and informed throughout the process.
• Identify potential issues early and take action to keep recruitment processes moving.
• Work closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements and candidate expectations.
• Ask the right questions to understand what makes someone successful in the role.
• Provide informed recommendations on candidate suitability.
• Communicate recruitment progress and pipeline updates.
• Build strong professional relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recruitment experience, preferably within an agency, staffing, or high-volume recruitment environment.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment from sourcing through placement.
• Strong sourcing and headhunting experience.
• Confident conducting telephone and video interviews.
• Strong candidate assessment and interviewing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify quality candidates and assess cultural fit.
• Experience managing multiple vacancies and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of recruitment processes and candidate management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
• Comfortable working toward recruitment and placement targets.
• Strong computer literacy and experience using ATS/CRM or recruitment systems.
