Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist with a strong technical background in composite, metallic, and plastic materials (electronics manufacturing experience is a plus) and a proven track record within the aerospace industry. This role is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies, identifying and qualifying strategic suppliers across India and other Asian countries, and driving excellence in cost, quality, delivery, and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to make data-driven sourcing decisions while collaborating effectively with global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFI, RFQ, RFP processes, bid evaluations, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers globally, with a focus on aerospace materials and components.
• Partner with sourcing teams to support supplier expansion and qualification efforts across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives and program requirements.
• Build and present comprehensive business cases to support sourcing decisions, supplier transitions, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Perform cost benchmarking, cost modeling, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses.
• Define procurement activity plans and sourcing calendars to support project timelines and program milestones.
• Analyze large datasets, supplier performance metrics, and sourcing dashboards to support decision-making.
• Negotiate complex supplier agreements to improve cost, lead times, quality, and overall supplier performance.
• Monitor supplier KPIs and implement corrective action plans when performance issues arise.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure alignment across the supply chain.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely certification, inspection, and delivery of materials in accordance with purchase orders and program requirements.
• Track sourcing activities, risks, and mitigation plans using project management tools.
• Maintain compliance with aerospace industry standards, quality requirements, and risk management procedures.
• Support category management strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant sourcing, procurement, or project management certifications are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, procurement, or related supply chain roles within the aerospace industry.
• Proven experience managing international sourcing projects and supplier development initiatives.
• Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts and leading supplier performance improvement efforts.
• Preferred Qualifications
• PMP, CPSM, APICS, or equivalent procurement/project management certifications.
• Experience with electronics manufacturing sourcing and supplier management.
• Experience managing subcontractors, outsourced manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics providers.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and other aerospace-specific quality standards.
• Experience sourcing materials and components across global markets, particularly within Asia.
• Multilingual capabilities, with Spanish considered a strong asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a remote or standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.

• Ability to occasionally visit supplier facilities, manufacturing sites, and warehouses.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel independently.
