Your Opportunity:

Taylor Corporation is looking for a Manufacturing Manager for our York, PA Facilty. As a key member of the site leadership team, the Manufacturing Manager will provide hands-on leadership across manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, service, productivity, cost management, employee development, and continuous improvement.

This role will work closely with the Director of Operations and other functional leaders to ensure production goals are met, customer commitments are supported, and the facility continues to improve operational performance. The successful candidate will be a visible leader on the production floor who can build strong relationships, develop employees, identify opportunities for improvement, and create accountability across the operation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Operations and site leadership team to identify and resolve key operational issues, remove constraints, and support profitability and long-range business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction across manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, service, and cost expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Serve as a visible leader on the production floor, reinforcing company values, performance expectations, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Develop, coach, and support manufacturing leaders and employees to strengthen performance, engagement, communication, and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain a strong safety culture by driving Environmental, Safety, Security and Health initiatives, monitoring performance, and addressing risks proactively.
  • Ensure production schedules, staffing levels, equipment capacity, and resources are aligned with customer requirements and operational priorities.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and take action to address production delays, quality concerns, equipment issues, capacity limitations, or other barriers to meeting customer commitments.
  • Drive quality performance throughout the facility by supporting standardized processes, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and production needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, lower costs, improve yields, and increase overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools to strengthen processes and sustain measurable operational improvements.
  • Support annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, capital investments, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to safety, quality, service, productivity, labor, waste, and cost, and develop action plans when performance falls below expectations.
  • Ensure effective production planning and scheduling to maximize available labor, equipment, and capacity while maintaining strong customer service levels.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Service, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and other teams to support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Support change management initiatives and help employees understand new processes, expectations, priorities, and business needs.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with employees and leadership regarding operational performance, priorities, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

You Must Have:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience leading manufacturing teams with responsibility for safety, quality, productivity, service, and employee performance.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
  • Experience managing production priorities, staffing, workflow, and operational performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, make decisions, and implement practical solutions.
  • Experience supporting safety programs and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Experience working with quality standards, corrective actions, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement methods.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing production needs.
  • Experience working with operational budgets, labor costs, productivity, or other manufacturing performance measures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive, respectful, and productive work environment.

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations leadership experience.
  • Experience leading multiple departments, functional areas, or large manufacturing teams.
  • Direct budgetary responsibility and experience managing forecasts, operating costs, and financial performance.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system.
  • Advanced experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis, or other continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience within print manufacturing, including offset print, digital print, finishing, fulfillment, or related operations.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity management, warehouse operations, and resource allocation.
  • Experience evaluating or supporting capital equipment investments.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, manufacturing profitability, yield improvement, and waste reduction.
  • Experience partnering directly with Customer Service or customer-facing teams to resolve complex operational issues.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic operational plans involving staffing, equipment, capacity, service, and cost.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, major improvement initiatives, or cross-functional projects.
  • Experience developing leaders and supporting succession planning within a manufacturing organization.
  • Ability to prepare and present complex operational information to senior or executive leadership.
