Sobre esta vaga de Senior Software Engineer na Bryq
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the platform that powers Bryq's talent intelligence products. You will work on complex, high-impact problems, from improving the reliability and performance of our assessment delivery infrastructure to building the data pipelines and APIs that connect our psychometric engine to the products our clients use every day. This is a role for an experienced engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of significant technical areas, mentoring less experienced colleagues, and contributing to architectural decisions. You will work in a collaborative environment where engineering quality is taken seriously and your opinion matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems and APIs
- Take ownership of significant technical areas including architecture decisions, code quality, and system performance
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Review code from peers and provide constructive, technically rigorous feedback
- Mentor and support mid-level and junior engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally
- Collaborate with product, data science, and I-O psychology teams to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions
- Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and post-mortem processes
- Contribute to engineering best practices, tooling, and developer experience improvements
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Java)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design (REST or GraphQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases and the trade-offs between them
- Proven ability to take ownership of a technical domain end-to-end — from design through to production
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience in a B2B SaaS or HR technology environment
- Familiarity with psychometric data, assessment platforms, or data-intensive applications
- Experience with event-driven architecture or message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Contributions to open source projects or a strong public technical portfolio
- Experience working in a remote-first engineering team
- Postgraduate degree or research background in a quantitative discipline
Benefits
- Competitive salary benchmarked at senior market rates
- Equity / stock option scheme
- Fully remote with optional access to co-working hubs
- 30 days annual leave plus public holidays
- Annual learning and development budget (conferences, courses, certifications)
- Top-spec hardware of your choice
- A small, high-trust engineering team where your influence on technical direction is real
