Purpose and Contribution summary
Provides strategic leadership and a broad range of Regulatory Affairs consulting and operational services. Leads and develops a team of regulatory professionals comprising direct and indirect reports in the region, ensuring delivery excellence, client satisfaction, employee engagement, and sustainable business growth. Responsible for managing different regional client programs, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving the development of individual and organizational capabilities within the region and beyond as applicable. Supports and contributes to the implementation of the Regulatory Affairs strategy while serving as a role model for leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic and Business Leadership

-          Provide strategic regulatory consulting and leadership across complex global, regional and local regulatory programs.

-          Enable high-quality client service delivery aligned with business objectives

-          Support regional workforce planning, resource visibility, and capacity discussions in collaboration with the Global organization

-          Drive growth through client development, cross-selling, proposal management, and support in business development initiatives.

-          Support the development and execution of Practice Area strategies, objectives, and annual business plans.

-          Contribute to regional operational effectiveness by supporting resource planning, utilization visibility, capability development, and escalation of people or capacity risks.

-          Contribute to financial performance through effective resource planning, budget management, and operational oversight.

-          Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency improvements, and service expansion.

-          Provide a wide range of flexible services within regulatory affairs, includes providing strategic input and navigating clients through the processes in addition to the hands-on activities required to prepare and submit documentation.

-          Maintain regional oversight of team capability, availability, development needs, and readiness to support regulatory delivery

-          Participation in, and leadership of, regulatory processes to gain and maintain marketing authorizations for human and veterinary medicinal products (applications, renewals, variations) including medical devices, cosmetics, food supplements and herbal products.

-          Preparation, review and compilation of documents within the framework of regulatory affairs projects.

-          Communication with clients and Health Authorities.

-          Responsible for scientific advice procedures

Team Leadership and People Development

-          Provide regional line management leadership for assigned regulatory professionals, ensuring clear expectations, consistent people processes

-          Lead, manage, and develop a team of regulatory professionals, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture within the team and beyond in collaboration with other regions and regulatory departments.

-          Provide clear direction, coaching, mentorship, and ongoing feedback to team members to support professional growth and career progression.

-          Conduct regular performance and development discussions and support employees in establishing meaningful career development plans.

-          Participate in staffing discussions from a line management perspective by advising on employee capability, development needs, availability, and suitability

-          Identify talent gaps and implement targeted development initiatives to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.

-          Support employees in achieving individual development goals through training, coaching, stretch assignments, and mentoring opportunities within the team and within client engagements.

-          Foster accountability, ownership, and continuous learning across the team.

-          Support recruitment activities, including workforce planning, interviewing, onboarding, and integration of new employees.

Capability Building and Knowledge Management

-          Drive continuous development of technical regulatory expertise within the team.

-          Ensure effective knowledge sharing, training, and dissemination of regulatory intelligence.

-          Establish and maintain best practices, standards, and consistent ways of working.

-          Encourage development of future subject matter experts and people leaders.

-          Promote innovation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Experience and Educational Requirements
-          Extensive professional experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related healthcare industries; good network across industry and associations; good understanding of pharmaceutical industry market trends regarding own technical area of expertise; complementary knowledge and expertise incl. financial & business acumen; solution focus driving resolution of complex problems.

-          Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and retaining diverse teams.

-          Ideally proven track record of managing and growing client relationships and business opportunities.

-          Experience coaching and mentoring employees across multiple levels of seniority.

-          Strong understanding of organizational development, workforce planning, and talent management principles.

- University degree in Life Sciences.

-          Leadership and critique to support definition of Cencora GCS’s strategic goals as well as strategic goals of partnerships with clients (e.g. contribution to RfP responses for large outsourcing projects); ability to balance client requests and company interests.

-          Shows initiative and leadership in optimizing ways of working across the business. Ability to adjust rapidly to new, unknown, challenging situations and support others through the change; full discretion to drive strategy and take action consistent with operating policies.

-          Drives extensive business process reengineering activities and provides consultation related to change management. Proactively leads on up/cross selling opportunities. Ability to analyze and solve problems and to develop pragmatic solutions at higher level (e.g. company level).

-          Ability to manage client relationships at all levels including C-suite, ability to convey strategic goals of collaboration.

-          Excellent communication and negotiation skills (written and verbally), proven capability to communicate critical issues and proposed solutions to senior management levels; ability to convey stakeholders even in critical or sensitive situations. Excellent skills in presentation; convincing and confident appearance.

- English business fluent; further language skills are appreciated.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

10+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs with Pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry.
5+ years of experience in a management capacity required.

Certification in clinical research or regulatory affairs preferred. Certification in health economics, outcomes research, or real-world evidence methodologies preferred.
