As the Compliance Senior Associate (Lead Role), you will be entrusted with a pivotal leadership role within the Transaction Monitoring (TM) team in Malaysia. You will act as the primary point of contact for all transaction monitoring activities, providing leadership, guidance, and strategic oversight of the team in Malaysia. This role involves driving the team’s performance, fostering a culture of compliance excellence, and ensuring that all transactions are thoroughly reviewed and flagged in accordance with regulatory requirements.

You will lead by example, promoting adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and other financial crime compliance regulations, while guiding your team to effectively manage the risks associated with suspicious or unusual financial activities. The role demands both operational excellence and strong leadership skills to ensure the team is equipped to handle complex compliance challenges in an evolving regulatory landscape.

You Will:

• Manage overall Group level Quality as QC (“Quality Checker”). Assess alerts from junior staff who handled the first layer of review and ensure the quality of closures/escalations. 
• Ensure the team follows strictly to the staff code of conduct. 
• Manage the team’s KPI performance and ensure the SLAs of the company are met.
• Handle Group level Quality Assurance checks of the team’s reviewed alerts and ensure that the quality of reviews is maintained at high standard.
• Provide training to all New Employees to ensure a consistent level of quality. 
• Collaborate with other key business functions to ensure a smooth end-to-end internal process to achieve customer satisfaction and safeguard the company’s and users’ interests.
• Act as the bridge between Level 1 team and Level 2 in Singapore. 
• Perform any other ad-hoc compliance related duties.
• Ensure regular Management Reporting  to the Transaction Monitoring team lead in Singapore.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for L1 Transaction Monitoring and Spearhead Alert Parameter Feedback/Tuning for L1 when applicable. 
• Manage the Transaction Surveillance Function and act as the key contact person and subject matter expert. 
• Review and assess alerts as required. 

You Are:

• Compliance & Risk enthusiast – you have racked up at least 4 - 6 years of relevant transaction monitoring work experience ideally within the financial services or payment industry. Relevant knowledge on payments related regulations in Singapore and Malaysia will be a plus. 
• Analytical & detail-oriented thinker – you possess excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in solving complex business with analytical thinking. You have the natural tendency to always focus on details and hate to miss out on specifics.
