ROLE OVERVIEW:
The company is seeking an experienced, highly detail-oriented Senior Architectural CAD Operator to lead the production of accurate, coordinated architectural documentation packages across a diverse portfolio of residential, multi-residential, and commercial projects.
This is a technically focused, execution-driven role requiring advanced Revit proficiency, robust construction knowledge, and a strong track record of delivering end-to-end documentation packages. Working in a flexible remote environment, the successful candidate must demonstrate self-sufficiency, effectively manage priorities across concurrent projects, and maintain clear, proactive communication with senior leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Documentation Excellence: Produce high-quality, detailed architectural drawings and comprehensive documentation packages using Revit from concept design through design development and final construction phases.
- Technical Drafting & Detailing: Prepare comprehensive plans, elevations, sections, door/window schedules, and intricate construction details.
- BIM & Model Management: Maintain accurate, fully coordinated Revit models throughout the project lifecycle.
- Consultant Coordination: Liaise and integrate architectural documentation seamlessly with structural, civil, and building services consultants, as well as key project stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Rigorously review drawings for accuracy, graphical consistency, and regulatory compliance; identify potential documentation conflicts and escalate issues early to mitigate risk.
- 3D Visualization: Generate high-quality 3D models and realistic visualizations utilizing Lumion.
- Approvals Support: Assist with planning permit applications, building approvals, and relevant authority submissions.
- Project & Task Management: Autonomously manage assigned workflows across multiple concurrent projects while meeting strict deadlines.
- Reporting: Provide consistent, clear, and structured progress updates to senior project leaders and management.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of dedicated architectural drafting and technical documentation experience in professional practice.
- Core Technical Expertise: Advanced Revit skills with a proven portfolio demonstrating end-to-end delivery of comprehensive architectural documentation packages.
- Software Proficiency: High proficiency in Lumion for visualization, alongside working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Technical & Construction Knowledge: Strong technical drafting capabilities with deep understanding of construction detailing and building systems across residential, multi-residential, and commercial typologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Solid working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards, as well as familiarity with Australian planning and building approval processes.
- End-to-End Delivery: Demonstrated experience supporting architectural projects from initial design phases through to final site construction documentation.
PREFERRED:
- Australian Practice Experience: Direct experience working within an Australian architectural practice is highly preferred / essential.
- Consultant Integration: Demonstrated expertise coordinating complex documentation with structural, civil, and MEP/building services engineering disciplines.
- Local Planning Frameworks: Specific familiarity with Victorian planning requirements and local council approval processes.
- Portfolio Evidence: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing advanced, detailed Revit documentation sets across varied project scales and sectors.
