We are looking for an experienced Senior Ab Initio Administrator & Developer to design, develop, administer, and optimise enterprise data integration platforms. The role combines strong expertise in Ab Initio Development & Administration, Co>Operating System, ETL Development & Data Integration, and Ab Initio Installation, Upgrades, Patching & Configuration.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing reliable ETL solutions while ensuring the stability, availability, performance, and security of the Ab Initio platform. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Application, Infrastructure, Database, and Business teams to deliver scalable data integration solutions and maintain robust production environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Ab Initio ETL and data integration solutions.
- Develop complex graphs, plans, workflows, components, and reusable ETL processes using Ab Initio.
- Administer and support the Ab Initio Co>Operating System across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform Ab Initio installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Manage platform configurations, environment setup, access controls, system parameters, and operational settings.
- Monitor platform health, job execution, system resources, and production workflows.
- Troubleshoot Ab Initio application, ETL, infrastructure, and data-related issues.
- Analyse job failures, logs, performance metrics, and dependencies to identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes.
- Build and maintain ETL workflows for extracting, transforming, validating, and loading data across multiple systems.
- Develop data integration solutions involving relational databases, files, APIs, and other enterprise data sources.
- Optimise Ab Initio graphs, workflows, components, and data processing jobs for performance and scalability.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across ETL processes and platform infrastructure.
- Support production deployments, release activities, incident management, and scheduled data-processing operations.
- Coordinate with Infrastructure, Database, DevOps, Application, and Data Engineering teams for platform and integration requirements.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, scheduling, and operational controls for critical data workflows.
- Support backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster-recovery requirements for the platform where applicable.
- Participate in platform upgrades, migration initiatives, environment refreshes, and technology-modernisation projects.
- Maintain technical documentation covering platform architecture, configurations, ETL workflows, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
- Follow enterprise security, change-management, development, and operational standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across Ab Initio administration and ETL operations.
- Mentor junior developers and administrators and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 7+ years of experience in Ab Initio development, administration, ETL, data integration, or a closely related role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Ab Initio Development & Administration.
- Strong experience with Ab Initio Co>Operating System and enterprise data integration environments.
- Proven experience in ETL development and data integration across complex enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience with Ab Initio installation, upgrades, patching, configuration, and environment management.
- Strong understanding of Ab Initio architecture, components, graphs, plans, workflows, metadata, and deployment processes.
- Experience developing complex and reusable ETL workflows and data-processing solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production-support capabilities.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimisation of Ab Initio applications and ETL workflows.
- Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modelling, and enterprise data processing concepts.
- Experience working with multiple environments and supporting critical production data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, scheduling, monitoring, and operational tools.
- Strong understanding of release management, change management, incident management, and deployment practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Experience mentoring team members and contributing to technical standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
