As a Sales Engineer for DACH, you will own the technical sales motion across Germany and the broader DACH region. Working closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and channel partners, you will guide customers through the full technical evaluation—from discovery and tailored demonstrations to demonstrations to workshops, proofs of concept, and technical validation.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role for someone who can translate complex cybersecurity capabilities into measurable business and security outcomes. You will help progress and close opportunities while building trusted relationships with both security practitioners and executive stakeholders.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Own the Technical Sales Process: Independently lead technical discovery, tailored demonstrations, workshops, PoCs, success criteria, technical validation, and competitive positioning throughout the sales cycle.
- Drive Opportunities Forward: Partner closely with Account Executives to qualify opportunities, address technical objections, identify risks, and build the technical confidence required to progress and close deals.
- Translate Technology into Outcomes: Connect our technical capabilities to measurable improvements in customers’ security posture, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and business priorities.
- Lead Proofs of Concept: Define clear success criteria and manage PoCs from planning and configuration through execution, evaluation, and executive readout.
- Build Customer Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with SOC teams, security leaders, technical buyers, and executive stakeholders across Germany and DACH.
- Enable Channel Partners: Work closely with channel partners, supporting joint opportunities and enabling partner Sales Engineering teams to confidently position, demonstrate, and validate our solutions.
- Provide Market and Product Feedback: Share actionable insights on customer requirements, competitive trends, and product gaps with Product, Engineering, and leadership teams.
- Represent the Company: Participate in customer meetings, partner events, conferences, and other industry activities across the region.
- Operate with Ownership: Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment with limited local resources, taking responsibility for outcomes rather than individual activities.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or cybersecurity pre-sales role.
- Previous experience working in a cybersecurity startup or scale-up environment.
- Proven ability to independently manage the complete technical sales cycle, including discovery, demonstrations, workshops, PoCs, technical objections, and competitive evaluations.
- Strong practical knowledge of SOC operations and technologies such as SIEM, EDR, MDR, NDR, vulnerability and exposure management, and security validation.
- Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, red teaming, purple teaming, breach and attack simulation, and related security frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience working alongside sales teams to qualify, progress, and close complex opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical depth with deal strategy and customer business priorities.
- Experience collaborating with channel partners and enabling partner Sales Engineering teams.
- The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both hands-on security practitioners and executive stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on mindset and the ability to operate effectively and independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent German and English communication skills.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- Experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity sales across Germany or the broader DACH market.
- Hands-on experience running customer security assessments, technical workshops, or complex PoCs.
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as hybrid and on-premises infrastructure.
- Knowledge of networking, endpoints, identity, firewalls, email security, and other components of modern enterprise security architectures.
- Experience with Salesforce and common sales and collaboration platforms.
- An established network within the DACH cybersecurity ecosystem.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, partner engagements, and industry events as needed.
Flexible Employment Setup: This role will be offered through an employment arrangement outside our German legal entity, with full details shared during the interview process.
