About the Role

The Recruitment Officer contributes to Flinders University’s Agenda 2035 vision by ensuring the University can attract, recruit and onboard talented and diverse employees who are essential to delivering outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful community partnerships.

Through the efficient administration of recruitment processes, providing timely support to hiring managers, promoting equitable and inclusive hiring practices, and creating a positive candidate experience, the role helps build a high-performing workforce that enables Flinders to achieve its strategic priorities of putting students first, being the university for industry and enterprise, and delivering research that matters.

This role is ideal for someone transitioning from a fast-paced customer-facing or administrative background (e.g. retail, hospitality, reception) into a People and Culture environment, and could be your next career move!

Please note: This role is offered on a fixed-term basis, however, there may be an opportunity to transition to a continuing position, subject to organisational requirements.

About You

You are a team player, forward thinker and always looking for ways to improve. Collaboration and communication will be key to your success along with a commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service and the ability to problem solve and work through new ways of doing things.

Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar HR/Recruitment support or customer liaison role, work well with HR/CRM software, have good attention to detail and be able to prioritise multiple deadlines easily.  Exposure to Workday or other HRIS/Recruitment platforms is desirable.

Critical to success in this role are:

• Proven administrative experience with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks at once and meet deadlines.
• Demonstratable success in a fast‑moving environment, responding promptly to stakeholders.
• A commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct

Prescribed Conditions for Employment

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University. This includes:

• Flinders University will require a current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University. The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.
