- Quality Management System
- Develop and establish quality management system procedures for Automotive components.
- Serve as the primary interface for OEM customers (global & India) for all QMS-related matters.
- Coordinate with plant team members on establishing Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001: 2015 & IATF 16949
- Responsible for audit activity including Manufacturing process audit, Internal quality audit (IQA) & co-ordinating with external quality audit for IATF16949 QMS.
- Follow & lead ISO 9001: 2015 & IATF16949-2016 Guidelines
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and OEM-specific requirements.
- QMS & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and sustain core quality tools:
- PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA
- Drive zero-defect mindset and prevention approach.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen.
- Conduct and drive Layered Process Audits (LPA) and internal audits
- Perform gap analysis and continuous process improvement initiatives across the plant
- Advanced Quality Planning
- Engage in the design, development, manufacturing, and program management activities for new product development projects.
- Drive built-in quality culture rather than inspection-based quality.
- Develop quality assurance documentation to support new product development process and regulatory submissions.
- Single point contact for the PPAP review and submission with customer and get approval.
- Lead investigation and EPC controls, risk assessment - SOP +90 days
- Well versed in reading drawings, and setting up Quality Inspection plans
- Calibration
- Carry out measurement system analysis for gauges /instruments and test equipment.
- Periodic calibration of gauges /instruments and test equipment.
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Work with:
Manufacturing – for process capability and stability
Engineering – for design changes & APQP
Supply Chain – for delivery adherence
Sales/Program teams – for customer commitments
- Support new product launches and smooth industrialization.
- Team Leadership & Governance
- Lead quality engineers, inspectors, and shopfloor teams.
- Drive accountability through daily/weekly reviews and Gemba walks.
- Build strong capability in problem solving and process discipline.
- Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Audit findings, measuring the number and severity of non-conformities discovered during internal and external audits
- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Risk reduction rate, measuring the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies
Number of process improvement initiatives Implemented, measuring the number of improvements made to existing processes
BE Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of experience in QMS & NPD with OEM or Auto ancillary unit.
