Sobre esta vaga de Product Owner Engineering Productivity Zone na Commonwealth Bank of Australia
- Own the product vision and roadmap for a secure engineering ecosystem used by thousands of engineers.
- Shape how engineers build, experiment and innovate, balancing a great developer experience with strong security and risk controls.
- Work across cloud, developer tooling, identity, endpoint security and emerging technology in one of Australia’s largest technology environments.
Do Work That Matters
Engineering Productivity Zone (EPZ) is CommBank’s secure engineering ecosystem, bringing together Windows and macOS devices, developer applications, engineering identity, segmented network access, cloud innovation environments, GitHub and dedicated engineering support.
As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll own EPZ end to end. Your challenge is simple to describe and genuinely difficult to solve, make the safe path the fastest path for engineers.
You’ll translate what engineers need into a clear product strategy while ensuring the platform meets the expectations of Cyber Security, Risk and Audit. You’ll bring engineering credibility to the role and make informed trade-offs across developer experience, security, resilience and scale.

You’ll join Secure Desktop & Identity Services within End User Experience, partnering closely with platform and principal engineers and stakeholders across Engineering, Cyber Security, Technology Risk, Architecture and Procurement.
Your impact will include:

- Listening directly to engineers and turning workflows, feedback and support insights into meaningful product improvements.
- Driving simpler self-service experiences across onboarding, application allow-listing, access approvals and software delivery pathways.
- Owning EPZ’s risk and control posture, including security assessments, control verification and remediation of security and audit findings.
- Making clear, documented risk-based product decisions across privileged access, application control, engineering identity, network segmentation and data transfer.
- Leading product outcomes for migrations onto EPZ, from pilots and adoption planning through to larger-scale rollout.
- Partnering with engineering leaders on priorities, technical trade-offs, service health, vulnerabilities and operational sustainability.
- Using evidence and data to give senior stakeholders clear visibility of product outcomes, risks and decisions required.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
You’ll combine strong product judgement with genuine engineering depth. You can engage credibly with senior engineers on architecture and tooling, while translating complex technical and security considerations into clear decisions for business, risk and executive stakeholders.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Substantial hands-on experience in software, platform, DevOps, cloud or infrastructure engineering, together with product ownership, product management or technical leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices and tooling such as Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, Config-as-Code and developer toolchains.
- Practical AWS and/or Azure experience, including cloud landing zones, identity federation and security guardrails.
- Understanding of Zero Trust, identity and endpoint security, including technologies such as Entra ID, Intune or Jamf, privileged access and network segmentation.
- Experience delivering technology in a regulated environment and working effectively with Cyber Security, Risk and Audit on controls, assessments and remediation.
- Strong product and Agile delivery capability, including backlog prioritisation, OKRs, outcome-based roadmaps and stakeholder management.
Experience with APRA CPS 234 or CPS 230, AI-assisted engineering tooling, ServiceNow, vulnerability management or relevant cloud/security certifications would be valuable, but is not essential.
This is an opportunity to shape a platform at the centre of CommBank’s engineering experience, helping engineers move quickly while strengthening the controls that protect the organisation.
