Job Summary:

Principal Consultant is a leadership position in our bespoke consulting practice, with a responsibility to develop, quote, lead and conduct bespoke research consulting projects covering multiple business lines including energy, feedstocks, olefins, plastics, aromatics, inorganics, syngas, and other materials. This is an opportunity for highly experienced consulting professional having in-depth knowledge of the chemical, petrochemical, refining and energy industries across various regions. The role involves taking ownership of the project execution, client relationship and mentoring the consulting team.

The position is based at our Dubai office and will require working closely with our global team on a regular basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of projects executed from Dubai office and ensure timely delivery of projects. 
• Actively manage the consultancy project team, including team members assigned to projects from other regions, and ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Utilise both internal and external subject matter experts to provide in-depth analysis.
• Support consulting directors and senior management in implementing projects.
• Manage, guide and mentor the analyst and consulting team through successful completion of project tasks.
• Interface with clients and present the study findings.
• Participate in business development activities and assist in proposal writing for the consulting business.
• Participate in resource planning, performance appraisal and recruiting processes.
• Contribute to team discussions on various consulting projects as a knowledgeable stakeholder.
• Travel on an ad-hoc basis.

 

Qualifications:

• A minimum of B.Sc./B.Eng./B.Tech. degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is required.
• A postgraduate degree in science or business management will be considered as an advantage.

 

Experience:

• At least 7 years of experience in a commercial or techno-economic role in the energy, refining or petrochemical industry or within energy/petrochemical market consultancy is required.
• Proven track record in successfully leading consulting or similar projects
• In-depth understanding of the energy and petrochemicals business, the structure of industry, the production technologies, and economic aspects such as markets and pricing is important.

 

Skills:

• High level of analytical and project management skills.
• Appropriate level of technical knowledge and industry insight to be able to effectively guide the consulting team and lead discussions with clients
• Articulate in English with excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs.
