Avis Budget Group is looking for a Paid Search Team Leader to own and develop the PPC strategy for North America. Based in Barcelona, you will manage paid search across the US and Canada, spanning multiple lines of business including Car Rental, Truck Rental, and Small Business.

The role combines hands-on campaign management – SQRs, ad copy and extensions, performance monitoring, and general maintenance – with strategic ownership of Bidding, Audiences, GDN, YouTube, and Demand Gen. You will work closely with the NAM Marketing team to align PPC with the broader performance marketing strategy and lead a small team of Search Specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage PPC campaigns across the US and Canada for Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, covering Car Rental, Truck Rental, Small Business, and other lines of business.

• Lead and develop a team of Search Specialists, providing strategic direction and day-to-day guidance.

• Develop and execute bidding strategy, including automated and smart bidding approaches.

• Manage and optimize Audiences, GDN, YouTube, and Demand Gen campaigns.

• Conduct regular Search Query Report (SQR) analysis and keyword optimization.

• Improve ad copy, extensions, and landing page alignment to maximize conversion efficiency.

• Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights.

• Collaborate with the NAM Marketing team to integrate paid search into cross-channel performance marketing initiatives.

• Manage budget pacing and support forecasting across NAM paid search programs.

• Stay current on platform updates, industry trends, and emerging best practices.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in paid search, managing campaigns in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.

• Proficiency with SA360 (Search Ads 360) for campaign and bid management.

• Deep understanding of automated bidding strategies and their application at scale.

• Expertise in A/B testing and optimization.

• Solid experience with SQRs and keyword optimization.

• Strong reporting and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

• Experience using automation to enhance data, ad copies, and campaign performance.

• Proven ability to deliver PPC initiatives that drive measurable performance improvements.

• Experience with digital measurement platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Campaign Manager 360 (CM360), and Adobe Analytics.

• People management experience or demonstrated readiness to step into a lead role.

• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.

• Native or fluent English speaker.

Bonus Skills & Experience

• Experience managing Remarketing, GDN, YouTube, and Demand Gen campaigns.

• Familiarity with setting up and utilizing automation systems.

• Expertise in promotion effectiveness measurement and budgeting/forecasting.

• A strong understanding of CRO strategy and landing page optimization.

• Technical skills such as SQL, JavaScript, or Google Ads Scripts.

• Experience in travel, mobility, or multi-market e-commerce environments.
