The Component Quality and Technology (CQT) organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Packaging Quality Engineer to work with our Optics OSATs and packaging supply chain to ensure operational consistency. We are a global team dedicated to ensuring the highest quality standards. By collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external OSAT partners, we maintain the operational excellence required to power the world’s most advanced networking technologies. What You’ll Do

• Drive stability in packaging manufacturing processes by establishing rigorous quality control protocols and identifying deviations in high-volume production lines.
• Manage the execution of packaging process control plans specifically focusing on bumping, die attach, wirebonding, and flip-chip reliability.
• Oversee implementation of statistical process control (SPC) across OSAT production lines to provide real-time monitoring and proactive correction of process variables.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging statistical analysis and quality methodologies to resolve complex yield and reliability challenges.

• Aggregate and analyze critical quality metrics to identify systemic issues early, mitigate supply chain risks.

• Partner with engineering and supply chain teams to conduct on-site audits and process assessments, ensuring adherence to standardized manufacturing processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, or related field) from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, with specific expertise in semiconductor packaging processes, substrates, testing, assembly failure analysis and quality assurance.
• Strong background in quality systems and methodologies, including SPC, OCAP, FMEA, and APQP.
• Demonstrated experience in managing OSAT-side quality metrics, conducting onsite process audits and mitigating supply chain risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor substrates, OSAT processes, and root-cause troubleshooting methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
• Advanced statistical analysis capabilities with experience managing and interpreting large data sets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
