The Role
Nabis is seeking a qualified Class A CDL Warehouse Driver to run pickup routes to brands as well as routes between Nabis hubs. This person must have at least 2 years of experience as a reputable, trustworthy driver and be able to communicate in a timely and professional manner with our Nabis dispatch and warehouse teams.
Responsibilities:
- Drive routes to and from our Woodlake hub to receive product from brands while supporting overnight hauls to our other California locations
- Outstanding problem solving and time management abilities
- Help maintain fleet vehicles by keeping them clean and ensuring they are empty and secure when returned as well as flag any potential maintenance issues to our Fleet Management
- Perform regular safety inspections of equipment in keeping with company SOPs and OSHA standards
- Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
- Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
- Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
- Always adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
- Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using CB radio and cab computer
- Communicate professionally with warehouses, including notifying loaders by phone if you will be late for a scheduled drop-off or pickup
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid CDL with a least 2 years' occupational driving experience
- Must have airbrake endorsement
- Must have up-to-date medical card
- Must be over the age of 21
- Must be available for overnight routes including overnight hotel stays Monday - Thursday
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch and twist
- A clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than 1 point on driving record)
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Must be able to welcome and learn new technologies quickly and effectively
